London borough says anyone can grow veg on blank patches of council land If a piece of land owned by Hounslow Council is a blank canvas, residents need only ask to grow fruit and veg on it

Normalise this.

You guys don't need to search hard for stories these days ! Suggest you look into how CICs (community Interest groups) are run - and what governance there is to ensure their proper management

Bicycles were the perfect vehicle for a new generation of painters looking for subjects that would express their experience of the modern age. This work (1907) by Erik Ludvig Hennimoder depicts the new leisured classes.

Yorkshire Dales sheep and cattle swap boosts biodiversity - studies Natural England began switching to cattle grazing at its Ingleborough site in the Dales in 2004.

Researchers found that replacing sheep with cattle at a site in the Yorkshire Dales - as part of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Wild Ingleborough project - saw plant diversity increase by more than 40% and the number of butterflies increased.

More of this sort of thing.

Uh...not an e-bike

Uh...not an e-bike

Definitely not an e-bike

Definitely not an e-bike

And this isn't an e-bike

And this isn't an e-bike

But this is not an e-bike

But this is not an e-bike

Can anyone tell me what the bike industry and/or People For Bikes are doing about the way e-bikes are being blamed for havoc caused by people riding electric motorcycles?!!?

WAY MORE THAN HALF THE STORIES ABOUT DEATHS CAUSED BY E-BIKES DO NOT INVOLVE E-BIKES. THIS IS KIND OF IMPORTANT.

🚗 💨 Pollution alert!

Walk, cycle, catch the bus, tube or overground and avoid driving if you possibly can!

This will help people with asthma or other lung and heart conditions to get on with their days safely.

Walking and cycling in Bristol save NHS more than £15m a year Bristol's transport supremo says there is a "clear mandate" to continue with active travel initiatives across the city

The data is clear: walking and cycling are good for our health, for the public purse, and for our cityscapes.

This is bittersweet for me, b/c I initiated the process with TfL that has led to this outcome all the way back in 2017 when TfL supported our initial Riding Sunbeams feasibility study to explore the potential for solar traction.
But we fell out of their subsequent tender process at the first hurdle

MPs’ basic salary to rise to £110,000 by end of parliament, watchdog says Ipsa cites rising abuse and constituency workloads as reasons for above-inflation increase of 5% from April

MPs’ basic salary to rise to £110,000 by end of parliament, watchdog says.

This should be accompanied by a total ban on second jobs, which in most cases is a corporate bribe. Must end all conflict of interests.

Being a MP is a full time job. MPs must act exclusively as MPs.

Legal e-bikes are a total game changer. They are not 'cheating'. They allow people to go cycle further while also giving all the mental, physical and financial benefits of 'acoustic' bikes. And every bike = more space on public transport AND one less car polluting our roads

It is not the government’s job to provide storage space for your private property. Cars are no different.

Roads exist to move people and goods, not to store private vehicles. Governments at all levels need to start calling out and enforcing that reality.
