La conferència es planteja des d'una doble vessant: per una banda, el patrocini d'edificis públics, sobretot esglésies; per altra, la participació d'algunes d'aquestes dones en episodis de destrucció de llocs de cult pagans.

I recently read, in an academic article, a very curious fact about Wibald: he had a sentence from Delphi inscribed at the entrance of his monastery church in Corvey (Germany). Unfortunately, the article does not provide any sources for this.
Abbot Wibald, born in or around Stavelot (Belgium) in 1098, had a very active public life, with embassies to Rome and other places in the West, and also to Constantinople. He was an intellectual, with an interest in classical literature.
