Feel like a national “no social media on weekends” act would be very good for society

Guiteau was doing Twitter politics before Twitter politics existed
Most countries in the world have criticized Israel so they’re hardly grabbing the one guy whose unafraid of speaking the truth. Just because Israel sucks doesn’t mean all of world politics revolves around it.
For supposed “America first” patriots, they sure do seem to put this nebulous concept of “the west” above actual America. Truly ironic that the people who rail on the globalists the most have the most trans-national agenda around.
It’s such a fundamentally unamerican history of decolonization. It was the European countries with the vast empires which they could no longer control. The American perspective in that period was totally different from that.
I feel like the biggest challenge of political communication is creating the institutions to combat the negative effects of parasocial interaction
Or even a good means of political communication. I feel like microblogging gives the delusion that you have a direct line of communication with the decision makers, when really you do not at all. It all gives the vibe of “I posted at the Dems so hard why aren’t they listening to me?”
Understanding and describing material realities is what sky was doing, and you’re calling that “weird behavior”
Tbh on a certain level I would rather have a society where the military is a passive as possible and does not save us from fascism. Creates a bad precedent, and then you end up with a situation like turkey
Yeah people are being bombed. Thats scary shit! But you’re not being bombed! So you have no excuse to be acting like a scared animal. Use your critical thinking skills! If your idea of empathy means abandoning all rational thought you are a slave to your emotions.
If you are unable to accurately describe and understand the world around you, all you have to change it is your fear and anger. Understanding the material realities of what is being done is critical to understanding its strengths and vulnerabilities.
I’m sure when Rubio gives the “give America your economy” bill for them to rubber stamp, they will do it and no one will be mad
No this time it’s different, they’re going to coerce with air power and special forces raids
Any company that invests in Venezuela isn’t going to be doing it because Venezuela is a profitable venture. They’re doing it for loyalty and connections to trump
Some people are so mentally subsumed by American military supremacy that they do not understand the concept that a military force might not be capable of doing something even if it wanted to
A couple of unnamed democrats saying exactly what would make you mad? It’s rage bait.
Anyone falling for this axios slop needs to consider the following
Our wine moms will block out the sun
IMO the logic of not engaging with these types of protests and protestors changes when libs can flood in with hordes of evylyn normielibs.
I think it’s possible the VP is in on it, and they’re gonna back her, but importantly, that’s not an new government, that’s just swapping out one guy for someone who is more supportive of your agenda
Seems like the only way “maduroism, but now US backed” would survive long at all would be either with US economic or military support, neither of which would be popular at home in the US.
I think the big question for me rn is whether delcy is or isn’t collaborating with the US. I could see it either way rn. I would guess she probably wants economic aid guarantees and will work to extract as much as possible before making a deal.
IMO we do see a flare up in violence as cartels and paramilitaries test the waters with this new leader and see if they can negotiate anything better.
You may not understand this, but it’s part of white culture that every politician will do one serious response and one silly response to every national scandal
The question should not be whether Twitter is or isn’t real life, but how do we adapt to a world where Twitter influences real life
They didn’t fucking listen, they should have fucking listened
Although if I were Trump I would blow my shit shmoove off and do the world a solid but that’s neither here nor there
You know if I were Trump, I might be watching my VP a bit more closely if this is how they think about regime change
Operation just cuz
I feel like what made the shutdown fight so crazy was that it certainly seemed like a lot, or at least enough people were ready to dig in their heels and push through, but it was the leadership at the top which was not prepared to live with the suffering.
