Ha! It was actually Ernie’s egg whisking I was referring to - boy (at uni) has been trying to make a cake with no electric whisk…

What a double bill! (Heck though, I last saw the Bunnymen in 87.)
And that view of the ziggurats will always stir me, my happiest days for sure.
Yeah I’ve always stood up for the comprehensive system, but not any more!
Just had to explain my reference to the Eric and Ernie “Stripper/Breakfast” routine to my 24-year-old son.
Charles trying to hide how much he’s bloody loving that.

My 95-year-old mum’s analysis of the cricket.
I hate to read this. I actually took an AI qualification in the 80s and always believed it would improve medical diagnostics, speed up complex tasks, etc - NOT replace human creativity. Pretty soul-destroying. (It’s coming for my job next but I’m lucky and can retire first.)
Yes I’ve had the same thought
He is the real deal.
Oh gosh, that smells SO good. One sniff at Great Dixter about 20 years ago and I had to have one!
My husband @mjowen174.bsky.social is very down and it’s difficult to see.
He had a thriving writing business until AI came along but now he’s struggling to find work.
Please repost this far and wide in the hope that he can find some writing work.

Well spotted! (And mild-mannered Lungi, I can’t believe it!)
Yep. Shame as we had some incredible momentum there, and the best transfer window since Farke days!
Yep, given that injury list I only care about staying up now!

Top fun fact, VHS too! (Friend of mine works with him, shall I ask for it back?) Remember it as physically disgusting but also rather poignant too, “the man” showing tenderness to his terrified captive. A difficult watch all round.
Forgiven, as your picks usually land well! Enjoying this thread on a bleak Monday.

Hope he was showered with sugar lumps
Death Line. “The Man” - utterly, nauseatingly repulsive - haunts me still. (Recommended by @jonathancoe.bsky.social I believe!)
I only saw the last ten minutes, destroyed me. (I watched out of interest because I’d come downstairs to find my husband and teenage son distraught after seeing the whole film.)
Fine Christian man
That’s beautiful
I know how that feels. We’ve got sudden sunshine here in London, going to get ourselves out in it. Hope you can find something to lift you up x
Deepest sympathies. Take the time you need, Alex x
Hmm…well, your grandson does!
I was more of an Orinoco fan…
