Amazing cats with great names! I feel like Ulmus is staring into my soul.
Blanket hogger extraordinaire (mine too, usually, but we just washed them and donβt want her to make them stinky quite yet)
TOE BEANS
They have such personalities!
Donut kitties! They look so soft.
What a good girl.
This week broke me. Whoβs got the cute pets and stupid memes Iβve missed?
As did I. Iβm worried about this long-term, though. I really donβt want to switch to metro to get to work, itβll add at least 30-40 minutes to my commute, and it makes me feel sick for hours.
I planned to share my report on the body cam footage early next week when I learned that a DC news station had obtained some of the footage as a result of my lawsuit and they were going to scoop me. After working on this for a year, I couldn't let that happen. Published 2 mins before they aired :)
Not passing judgement on either; just acknowledging the headaches on all sides.
Tbh, not surprised. A bunch of years ago, some neighbors complained to the church about our choir parking in front of their houses on the side streets on Tuesday nights. With the street parking gone on Braddock, I can imagine more neighborhood parking and more residents complaining.
Three golden brown and white dogs cover a queen sized bed that has a gray fleece on it for extra comfiness. There is no room for people. They stare at the camera languorously

Me too, Kell. Me, too.

May it be uneventful! Good girl, Sofi. π
Baby Sofi!
Del Ray and Alexandria friends, one of my across the street neighbors is missing. Please share with local friends and neighbors.
A ballot box for voting on a lane name at Trader Joeβs in Alexandria, VA with a filled-out ballot in front of it. The βUnionβ box is checked in honor of the Alexandria City professionals group winning their union election.
Voted for the lane name at the Old Town Trader Joeβs in honor of the city employees winning their union vote! Union strong! πͺπ
I once filmed inside a nuclear power plant! (In Canada; the Americans wouldnβt let us anywhere near one.)
Turn it off. Turn it off. Turn it off.
Union strong! πͺπ
(My husband is celebrating this tonight, too.)

Saw a thoughtful thread about AI, don't want to QT or argue. But. The biggest rage factor with LLMs is the people who, because genAI is transformative for coding, think it's transformative for everything else, because they devalue every other form of work and labor and knowledge.

I am aghast. And also, not surprised? But also, IT IS THE ASSOCIATED PRESS. I want to know what the union thinks about this.
Truly cannot say I know a single editor who would prefer to deal with AI-generated stories over those written by a human reporter
Thereβs been a lot of comparisons to the early Internet and AI, but I donβt remember the AOL voice telling me βresistance is futileβ after logging in
