It's election time and the Conservatives are trying to shift the blame for their own failings. Over successive years central government has given local authorities a fraction of what it costs to maintain the roads and now they want to blame @libdems.org.uk @eddavey.libdems.org.uk ...
www.theguardian.com/commentisfre.... Nice article @theguardian.com except you've got your Southport and Stockport mixed up. Again.
Further changes include rerouting the 5A via the LTN bus gate on Crowell Road to speed up journeys between Minchery Farm and Templars Square, and retimings on other routes. The H2 from Witney to the JR transfers from Stagecoach to OBCβs sister company Pulhams. www.oxfordbus.co.uk/service-chan...
They didn't even stop to think about whether it's a good offer.
Why is the government happy to cosy up to China, but won't even look at a better customs deal with our closest neighbours in Europe?
Ministers say theyβre looking everywhere for growth but are ignoring what is staring them in the face.
Labour group leader Liz Brighouse in Lye Valley, her current county council seat
Labour has called for the upcoming Oxford traffic filters to be βhaltedβ. Its local leader Liz Brighouse said βOxford residents are united in recognising that traffic is a major problem. But debates on what to do about it have turned neighbours against one another.β
Hi @labourwalkscycles.bsky.social @labourstone.bsky.social are you aware of the following: www.oxfordlabour.org.uk/labour-backs...
You have invited a group of Oxford Labour Councillors to speak at your event on the 1st Feb. It seems somewhat hypocritical.

This is on land that the County Council released to the City Council to deliver affordable housing.

Yes. But not canned baked beans which are far too sugary. And as a Lib Dem I knit my own baked beans.
What Yvonne Constance - the former Tory Roads supremo - did, without fuss, was show she has more integrity than the rest of her Tory and Labour colleagues combined, with their soundbites and lack of solutions to the very real problems of congestion in Oxfordshire.
From the same logic as LTNs are racist.
Multi-lane road in a city with no cars in it
Good news. Because I have a picture of a street with no cars in it, we donβt need streets for cars.
I know that because of all the helpful people who have told me over the years that because they have a picture of a bike-lane with no bikes in it, we donβt need bike-lanes.
Sounds reasonable, right?
Collage of people attending the APPG launch holding a bright pink placard saying "We Need Fair Elections". In the collage are the LibDem Vice Chair of the APPG Lisa Smart MP, Green Vice Chair Ellie Chowns MP and friends, Labour's Ben Bradshaw, LibDems Ros Savage and Olly Glover MP and journalist Gavin Esler.
We are thrilled to be joining cross-party members of the #APPG for #FairElections @appgfairelections.bsky.social and allies in democracy organisations at tonight's launch - an exciting moment in the fight for electoral reform.

Graphic of an elderly woman and a young boy embracing, overlaid with 'It's time for a cross-party approach to social care."
The Government must urgently start cross-party talks on social care before it is too late.
We know the problems. It's time to get all parties round the table and agree the solutions.
Wonderfully strange things happen in Stockport these days.
