There have been a few video game servers and for movies, Ultra Violet that got shut down, and folks are pretty unhappy about losing their digital media. Worried that may come to audio and digital books if it hasn't already.
You also don't have to worry about the company that owns the servers going out of business and all the media you purchased housed on those servers disappearing in a puff of smoke.
Actually haven't heard of markdown yet. How is it?
I have been using Libre Office and Google Docs for writing before using Affinity Publisher. I am all for Word alternatives. Their subs are super expensive these days and they love collecting data on folks.
Picked up the first 3 seasons at the thrift store last week. I am one of the rare folks who has never seen this yet.
I have been focusing more on physical media lately with the big push from tech companies to get us all on subs. Subs that keep growing in price.

Turned in my short story submission to the Views from the Overlook anthology. Guessing a bunch of folks will be making submissions. This was a fun project to research and totally visited a spooky old hotel a few times to hear about their ghost stories.
I know I buy far too many books but I like to think that lining the walls of my house with them wards off evil in some deeply important way.
