The emotional toll can be different, externally. Internally, the cycle is very similar. The original post deals with the internal cycle and the need for routine for basic well-being of NTs.

It’s common to get upset over a change in routine, ND or NT.

What differs is NTs are ruffled and reset. NDs take time to collect themselves, when possible, and recovery takes a lot more effort.

Anger is a facet of anxiety and emotional upset.

And, a lot of neurotypicals do get upset when their routines are interrupted. But, their responses are not outward as they realign to their new reality, for most things.
