Well that's both hilarious and also DEEPLY concerning!

I just saw a bunch of Canadians in a comment section discussing the benefits of becoming the 51st state.

The number of people saying that it would be better because of 'guaranteed constitutional rights' is throwing me for a loop.

Folks... tell me this is a joke. Are they living under a rock?!

Pathetic that Canada would fall for the same fucking rhetoric for the invasion of Iraq.

Iran literally provided an offer to the US on thursday that would stockpile it's uranium enrichment elsewhere AND dilute what they currently have. how is that indicative of a weapon being built? nonsense

We raised $112k for trans kids last spring on here, and $35k for immigrant kids in the fall... and we're about to raise probably somewhere in between those two amounts for @immcouncil.org next month!

Epstein and the Wage Slaves: How Are We Supposed to Live Like This? There's a connection between the jobs market and the Epstein trafficking ring. Let me explain...

There is a link between the existence of billionaires, and the existence of the criminal network in the Epstein Files.

Without the divide between extreme wealth and poverty, this could not have happened.

Ugh, can't wait to see your head explode. I don't know if I can stomach it myself!

I'll be trying to get through it, but ugh.

I'm old enough to remember when polio ripped through the globe and put my friends into iron lungs.

We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.

RFK Jr. is a disgrace.

It's been 52 days since Donald Trump invaded a sovereign state, abducted its leader, and declared that the United States will "run" that state indefinitely.

Still no member of the House has introduced articles of impeachment connected to these actions.

Today would be a great day to do so.

For those who aren't aware, Timothy Snyder is a phenomenal expert on the subject of fascism and authoritarianism.

You should listen to him. And get his books while you're at it - he's the one who coined the phrase, "Do not comply in advance."

So when he says this, you should hear him.

Repeating History: The Dust Bowl and the Great Depression Looking to the past for inspiration.

The unique blend of climate catastrophe and economic devastation we've been experiencing these past few years feels unprecedented.

Except it isn't. We've seen this before. We know exactly how to fix it.

Our leaders just... won't.

The New United States: The Return of Concentration Camps Both the U.S. and Canada have built them before. It was awful. And now they’re coming back…

In the middle of the SCOTUS ruling on tariffs, on the legal drama around Epstein, and the Olympics, we can't lose focus on what's happening to vulnerable people in the U.S. right now.

Concentration Camps are coming back to the United States.

There are likely dozens, hundreds more that we don't know about.

Norway arresting their former Prime Minister, too.

France trashing Elon Musk's Paris offices to search for evidence...

Everywhere else, we're seeing accountability. Just not in the United States.

At least something is happening! For goodness sake, it says something how excited we all are to see a tiny modicum of good news coming out of the United States.

Ugh.

The Law and Justice: There is a Difference We’ve talked about this before, but it’s time to discuss it again. When does the law stop being about justice?

I expect no justice from Donald Trump's regime.

I Always Took Rain for Granted, Until It Went Away Heatwaves and a lack of rain make for a life-threatening combination

Living in the Canadian Maritimes, I had never experienced a true drought. If there's one thing we're known for, it's water.

But last year, Mama Nature flipped the script. We got a taste of hellfire as Climate Change rolled in to show us what it can do.

Parents are afraid to send their kids to school, classrooms sit half-empty, children are being taken to detention facilities. We’ve crossed a line.

I stood with education leaders to discuss the growing harm federal actions are causing to children, families, and our schools.

JUST IN: DAG Todd Blanche suggested Alex Pretti shooting is under investigation by DOJ's Civil Rights Division, which indicates it is not being treated as an assault on federal officer but as a potential civil rights violation by the officers who shot Pretti.

This is not bargaining. This is acquiescence in the face of authoritarianism.

Getting the impression that ICE is gearing up for a pogrom in Springfield, Ohio, which was ground zero of Vance’s lies about Haitians during the campaign. Haitians lose temporary protected status on February 3rd. Reporters, lawyers, neighbors β€” please get ready.

Minnesota believes in law and order. We believe in peace. And we believe that Trump needs to pull his 3,000 untrained agents out of Minnesota before they kill another American in the street.

We who study history have seen this before.

This is fascism. Call it what it is, don't hem and haw, don't hesitate.

It's fucking fascism. Trump is a fascist, his administration is staffed with fascists, and they're trying to murder democracy in the streets of your cities.

Please don't let them.

These were extrajudicial murders of citizens by armed Federal agents under the command of a President who treats your country's constitution like toilet paper.

This is the result of a Gestapo-like force being deployed into the streets with assurances that there will be no accountability.

Call It Like It Is: An ICE Agent Murdered an American Citizen In Cold Blood Renee Good wasn’t a threat; she wasn’t an activist, and she didn’t hit him with her car. He just murdered her in the street

I wrote this after the extrajudicial murder of Renee Good.

And now I'm sharing it again after the extrajudicial murder of Alex Pretti.

How many more times am I going to need to say it?

Call it like it is.
