Daughter cycling through filters in the LTN
Hereβs what Iβve learnt about cycling in a city with an 8 year old. For a start, many kids prefer to cycle than other ways of travelling.
It gives them freedom and autonomy. And yes, even in the rain. Recently my daughter was offered a lift when it was hammering β¦ 1/10

A stunning #Neolithic rock crystal arrowhead found in the pile-dwelling settlement of NeuchΓ’tel, Switzerland, dating from around 3500 BC. The raw material was not available in the immediate area, but came from the Alps. Rock crystal has been mined in the Swiss Alps since the early Mesolithic.π§΅1/3

Two things are simultaneously true:
1. The Iranian regime treats its people with extreme brutality and cruelty, and we should honour the citizens seeking to overthrow it.
2. A US attack on Iran would turn a crisis into a catastrophe.

The photo shows four images of the same Roman iron stylus (pen) one below the other, with knib to the left. This stylus is octagonal in shape, with an inscription dot-punched along its length on four alternate sides. The stylus is 132 mm long and 5 mm thick, and the letters are circa 2 mm high. The four images of the pen show the four lines of inscribed text (highlighted) which read:
βab urbe v[e]n[i] munus tibi gratum adf(e)ro
acul[eat]um ut habe[a]s memor[ia]m nostra(m)
rogo si fortuna dar[e]t quo possem
largius ut longa via ceu sacculus est (v)acuusβ
Translated as
βI have come from the City. I bring you a welcome gift
with a sharp point that you may remember me.β¨I ask, if fortune allowed, that I might be able (to give)
as generously as the way is long (and) as my purse is empty.β
This inscription is generally interpreted by scholars as a humorous, tongue-in-cheek acknowledgment by the giver of the cheapness of the gift.
The pen was used to write on wax-filled wooden writing tablets. Found in London (Roman βLondiniumβ) by MOLA, during excavations for Bloombergβs European Headquarters in 2010β2014 . Photo by Juan Jose Fuldain for MOLA

Black and white photo of a man in a jacket and tie riding a small-wheeled bicycle on a city street, with stores and cars in the background.
The Watford Museum provided an updated description of the scene:
βIn this photo, reporter Robert Jobbins is seen turning from High Street into Market Street. The Moulton 'Mini Bike' was a bit different to the earlier heavy bicycles. It was light weight, had no crossbar, smaller wheels, no tools were necessary to adjust it, and it had the unique feature of a suspension which must have smoothed the ride."

Notes to The Resistance: During an Autocracy, All of Us Are Queer
On June 28, 1969, LGBTQ+ New Yorkers at the Stonewall Inn forever changed America: they rioted for their life because they were tired of police kicking the shit out of them.
βAutocracy may be new to white heteros but not to LGBTQs who have confronted it all their lives - and this is exactly why as soon as they got into power, MAGA Nazis specifically targeted my community: we are a symbol of progress, and their most qualified enemyβ
