Congressman Derrick Van Orden often mislabels Eau Claire as “dangerous”—this could not be farther from the truth. As the fifth safest city in the entire country, Eau Claire is an accepting, empathetic community that prioritizes the safety of our most vulnerable residents.

We urge everyone who is outraged by ICE cruelty and violence to take non-violent actions, including contacting legislators, helping neighbors, protesting, and more. Minneapolis and many other cities are calling for a nationwide shutdown this coming Friday, Jan. 30.

Expanding ICE’s funding makes America less safe. We believe in law and order, community, and acceptance—all values that ICE opposes. To expand ICE’s funding when it’s facing more accusations of abuse than ever is dangerous.

AOC: An agency that is attacking U.S. citizens, kidnapping five-year-olds and using them as bait, and privately circulating the idea that they can violate the rights of Americans by busting down their doors—they deserve to be defunded, and I’ll take any step in that direction.

Keep ICE out of Eau Claire. The Valley will not stand by while masked police kidnap our neighbors. We strongly condemn the recent ICE presence in Eau Claire and ask the Valley to rally in support of our community and the families affected.

The Republicans that joined in funding the ACA recognize its effectiveness—healthcare is essential, and the ACA provides lifesaving care for millions of Americans.
