I know we all joke about it, but if a horse keeps spooking in the same spot, it means SOMETHING has changed. It might be small or unnoticeable to us human grunts, but they are so wildly sensitive to that stuff.

I can second Bit Butter - I tried it because my guy has some stress around the bit when we ride, and it’s had the side effect of making bridling even easier. When it’s cold, I just warm the bit up like normal, and the warm of that and my hands is enough to get a nice, thin layer on.
