Our new paper: African interlaces are continuous “over-under” paths, in African lusona, beadwork, textiles, etc. They visualize the “circulating vital energy” of Indigenous regenerative economies. Some survived the middle passage, creating new diaspora design ecologies.

Our paper on Indigenous knowledge for STEM in Bali is out!. Traditional "subak" irrigation uses bottom-up, democratized resource distribution with ecological sustainability. Children learning with the subak model show statistically significant improvement in their STEM understanding. bit.ly/4rjvEt4

We need a statue for bi-partisan anti-violence, showing two left wing figures killed, and two right wing figures killed. The right-wing should be Charlie Kirk plus Brian Sicknick, the DC police officer (and Trump supporter) whose death was due to the Jan 6 rioters.

I am all for empathy. But it really hurts the cause to keep reposting false clickbate. Arendt, Einstein -- never said this. Plato said the opposite: that your subjective impressions are the lowest form of knowlege. Empathy is good, but so is responsible use of communication.

Computer science majors now have one of the top unemployment rates in the nation. No one seems willing to admit that AI's chickens are finally coming home to roost. I'm hoping upper management is next.

Tinkering with malleable grassroots infrastructures: Kenyan local currencies in informal settlements You have to enable JavaScript in your browser's settings in order to use the eReader.

Great paper! Would love to see how localized currencies might be used to assist the artisanal fishing and transitional aquaculture cases. See for example www.tandfonline.com/doi/epdf/10....

We also need mutual aid orgs that are self-sustaining, not charities. Examples like Mondragon work because they are financially self-sustaining. Even wikipedia creates an excellent, high value product. Our GJ platforms take this approach: generativejustice.org/af/ and generativejustice.org/uai/

This growing gap in White vs Black/Latine net household worth seems to have the same rate no matter which party is in the whitehouse. What is that telling us?

In the 1980s, creative music sampling in rap was condemned as theft. 40 years later, AI's steals all human creativity at scale, and they call it a genius breakthrough.

Open-source artificial intelligence - Wikipedia

Since AI has essentially committed theft of all of humanity's internet images and text, and there is no way to individually proscute, the best legal action would be to require those corporations to put their AI models in publically accessible open source, free for anyone to utilize. bit.ly/406WwRD

The problem with the model you are describing is that it is quite linear. Yes, convergent morphologies show evolution stablizing niches. But evolution simultaneously destabilizes niches. If convergence was king, we would not see one continent 99% marsupials, another 99% placentals.

I took Peitgen's class at UCSC, cool dude. Pg9 "Nested patterns where there is a set of generalist species that interact with other generalist species, and then a subset of specialized species whose interactions are nested within the generalist interactions" -- Peitgen would have loved that.

Our focus is AI for worker-owned business. Your definition excludes that. I get it -- despicable companies claim "doing good" while making billions in military contracts. But restricting AI for good to "charity" recreates a stereotype those companies love. generativejustice.org/artisanal-cy...
