A collage of six pictures from my tiny garden this week. The large picture on the left shows a ladybird on a leaf in sunshine. The two small pictures on the top are blue Anemone blends and green flowers of Smyrnium olusatrum or Alexanders. The small pictures on the bottom are a tulip open in the sunshine and closed when it is cloudy and a white Primula. The large picture on the right is a blue Hyacinth.
🌱 #sixonSaturday from my tiny garden. The wonderful sunshine this week has made a real difference in the garden ad it is so lovely to see all the colour.

Bright pink flowers if Prunus Kursar, an early flowering variety.
🌱 #flowersonFriday
It’s the beginning of Cherry Blossom season and the gorgeous, sun filled recent days have spurred on their flowering. Not much sun forecast for today sadly. I have a busy day ahead, travelling to Brighton to meet friends and celebrate a life sadly cut short.

A pure white crocus viewed from above. In the middle are orange stamens and perched on top of them is a tiny black beetle
🌱 #insectThursday
A beautiful Crocus with the tiniest critter which I think might be a pollen beetle.
I am off to Wisley for a staff and volunteer update from the DG. Then because the sun is shining a long walk to forget about the world!

🌱 #roseWednesday
As the news continues to dismay and depress, I will continue to post things of wonder and beauty. Wisley, my tiny garden, stitching, friends and family have become my world.

Bare, pendulous branches making a filigree pattern against blue sky.
🌱 #thicktrunkTuesday
Isn’t this tree beautiful? It is in Wisley’s Arboretum and is a Betula pendula Youngii. I really like the patterns of the bare branches.
Yesterday’s sunshine was definitely mood enhancing.

Haggerston school in Hackney. Building designed by Goldfinger and is a grade 2 listed. The collage of photos show the outside of the four story building, the original tannoy system, the view from the roof showing all the new London buildings and a menu from the canteen. It wasn’t like that when I taught there from 1969 to 1974
It was amazing but I recognised very little. The building is now Grade 2 listed so nothing can really be done to it. Thank you for asking.

Cardamine quinquefolia or Cuckoo flower with cut leaves and delicate pink flowers.

A particularly beautiful Hyacinth. Each flower is pink on the outside and pale blue near the stem.
As the world becomes a more dangerous place because of decisions made by corrupt people, my world shrinks to what I can manage and enjoy so today as the sun is shining, I will spend time in my tiny garden.

I downloaded the pattern and made my donation but I find interpreting patterns really difficult. Let us know how you get on.

A photo showing legs of two small children dressed in bright yellow wellies. One is standing in the water flowing in the rill.
Something different for #SundayYellow. Properly dressed to play happily in the rill in Wisley’s Hilltop Wellbeing Garden last Sunday. It’s going to be a grey, damp day so I might have another quiet volunteering shift,

Thank you. It will be very nostalgic! After leaving in 1974, I never went back so this will be my first visit. So many memories!

A collage of six photos from my tiny garden this week. The two large pictures are a blue Pulmonaria and my first Tulip, cream and red. The small pictures are slowly emerging white Iberis, blue Rosemary, a pink bulb but I can’t remember which one and a self seeded daffodil looking a bit nibbled in my lawn.
🌱 #sixonSaturday from my tiny garden where spring is hovering and I am waiting in keen anticipation!
An early start for me as I am joining a Hackney Society visit to Haggerston School which is described as a Goldfinger’s Modernist. It is where I began my 19 year teaching career in 1969!

The back view of a pigeon standing in a flower bed next to a couple of blue pansies. The feathers on its back are mottled dark and light grey.

Often ignored because they are so common, pigeons have beautiful markings on their feathers.

Botanical name Flavoparmelia caperata this lichen has a bobbly appearance with wrinkled lobes. It is growing on the bark of a tree.
🌱 In celebration of all things Green, beautiful lichen which a search suggests is Common Greenshield Lichen. #fungifriends

A bee visiting stunning blue Pulmonaria flower.
A Ladybird sitting on bright green foliage.
🌱 It’s #insectThursday and I’m starting to see some very welcome critters returning. I spotted these two on my visit to the Garden Centre and had to buy the Pulmonaria for its glorious colour.
Today thanks to @ianvisits.co.uk who alerted me to tickets being available I am off to Battersea Dogs!
