get curtains if a 4am sunrise is that big of a problem?? and seriously, the sun setting at 9pm instead of 10pm is not a huge difference. People will still be out in the evening during the summer.

You can’t pass permanent DST without federal involvement, that’s why so many states have passed legislation and it’s gone nowhere. Congress hasn’t amended the bill to allow for states to have permanent DST.

You can have permanent standard time without that amendment, though.

For the love of god PLEASE do not make daylight savings time permanent. There is so much research showing just how bad it is. You also can’t make DST permanent without federal involvement - but you CAN make standard time permanent without them!

Gotta agree with Runar here, permanent standard time is the way to go. We tried federally mandated permanent DST in the 70s and it failed so miserably it didn’t last more than a year. You can handle a 4am sunrise - buy some blinds or curtains.
