I dreamed of my dad last night, and I feel like it's finally been long enough since he died that dreaming of dad no longer consistently hits the 'pain' button. It was a good dream, and I woke up happy to have seen him. I wish it had been real, of course, but it was still good.

I appreciate your thoughts here - we're trying to navigate these exact waters at my employer. We've got a lot of folks that are REALLY into AI, but they're not mindful of the longer-term consequences of thoughtless adoption. I am particularly worried about the future lack of skilled senior devs.

I appreciate the correction! To be fair, the misattribution predates the internet, if memory serves. I seem to recall hearing it in high school, when to me ‘the internet’ was a half-hour on Compuserve.
I must admit almost total ignorance of the works of Mr. Terkel (I am aware he existed, at least) so I can't say that he DIDN'T write on the matter any more than I can say that he did.
