My favorite reddit hockey posts are the ones where some "scrub tier" NHL or AHL player shows up to a beer league game and just abso-fucking-lutely smokes everyone on the ice. They're professionals for a reason, even the worst of them are 100 times better than any amateur!

You may try reaching out to your host that manages the consent manager and see if they know that changed or have some recommendations to adjust it.

Yup! Their first party so they don't need the same permissions to track. IIRC GDPR wants you to default to opt out, but US doesn't need to do that. I know some consent managers let you adjust that by region but it may it might not be "free".

Yeah, this sounds to me like a change in default permissions, you had a small number of people who defaulted out of all tracking previously (the old discrepancy) and a lot of people that just never clicked it. The people that never clicked it are now in the same bucket as those who opted out.

I'm not fully tuned in to changes, but iirc there were changes in a lot of default permissions around GA that blocked tracking. The gist was that before most places would assume an ignore of the tracking settings message was an opt in, it's now an opt out.
