Thank you for sharing that. However, I do think it’s a disservice, even unintentional, to simply put it as Rambeau was no longer using the moniker of CM without the historical context of WHY she was no longer using it.

Here’s a throwback: a competent Black woman was stripped of her rank and name over petty reasons from male editors and no one seems to care about that. Not that Carol Danvers shouldn’t be defended, but where’s any discussion on Monica Rambeau, the FIRST female Captain Marvel?
This!
This.
“He established viable and lucrative properties that, in turn, employed literally hundreds of lesser talents for decades. And yet, Kirby was painted as ungrateful, stubborn, selfish. Why couldn’t he play ball? Why did he have to be difficult?”
Here’s a helpful compendium of various Stan Lee responses to Jack Kirby & Steve Ditko creatorship claims:

I wish there’d been more Edith Head cameos in late 70s television.
1000% agreed. I also think more people should speak up about the horrifically racist and sexist treatment of Monica Rambeau- the *first* female Captain Marvel- it should be a bigger deal:

I think Captain Marvel is a better name than both. Marvel ripped away this characters agency and it’s massively disrespectful.
@margaretstohl.bsky.social with respect, here’s a fair review of this valuable book. There were some errors and omissions I admittedly find baffling, but the good outweighs the bad:

Groth sat with these poseurs too. Amazing. He won’t even speak to me!
Wow. I did not know that even Flo Steinberg- in addition to her various other duties- assisted in directing the art assignments, like Sol Brodsky. Which again lends itself to the question- “what was Stan Lee ‘too busy’ doing that he couldn’t write scripts?’

A worse crime is they’re poorly educated on so many interview subjects to begin with. Very little research. Trina Robbins told me they “seemed like they didn’t have a clue”
Those guys are barely historians.
certainly back issues are obtainable
Nineteen years before Amazing Fantasy #15, a 15 year old bookworm is mocked and shunned by his classmates in a story introducing a new incarnation of a superhero. Ditko was already reading this publisher. Some thoughts:

Remember: some of the worst thieves in the comics industry are the professionals themselves.

Happy Birthday, somewhat late. That museum is indeed fab.
Shouldn’t Roy’s apprentice and fervent Stan defender John Cimino know this? It’s revealing that he does not and merely reacts to another ScreenRant-esque excuse for news reporting without second guessing it. These are the guys maintaining a magazine purportedly about comic book “history“. Wow.
This is a reminder- perhaps a petty one, but a reminder regardless- that Roy Thomas’s “Manager” and best friend is an undeniable fuckin’ moron.
This was posted only a couple hours ago and a reader sent me this screenshot. Happy Birthday Stan!!! Except… Stan’s birthday is in DECEMBER.
Convinced Stan Lee to convince Martin Goodman to purchase the rights. Stan Lee had no power to purchase rights.
Thanks for continuing the discussion Ruben, as well as crediting FCS. Much appreciated.
And some Ditko “fans” believe he ghosted Spider-Man stories in the Eighties due to the inclusion of villain Jack O’ Lantern. Great work there
Roy Thomas even borrows from his fans, amazing! This guy should learn who he’s dealing with. There’s nothing written down that ol’ Rascally won’t feel entitled to
You can’t make it up: someone brought to my attention that Roy Thomas’s autobiography has been made available for pre-order. Amongst the comments in the Official Roy Thomas Appreciation Group comes this guy’s somewhat sheepish reminder that Roy is using HIS title, which he’s shared numerous times:
