Imaginations power might just be constrained to the ability to use magic effectively. I never think of magic like The Force in Star Wars in that it permeates all things. Just a thing that's around some times like radiation.
I've met a lot of narcissists. Even if it dawns on them that their behavior and worldview is increasing the difficulty modifier for themselves, they are still unable or unwilling to adjust course.
I'm not making any sort of claim here but I often consider the unreliable narrator. Just b/c a main character says something doesn't mean they are right. Example: many would claim violence is never the answer but that's a pretty childish view of morality.
Never understood the thrashing re: Demons being ontologically evil. If a fantasy race can be construed as a stand-in for an actual race, yeah big problem. But Goblins just being evil is fine. It feels like people trying to map morality onto a xenomorph. Not everything is nuanced and that's okay.
