Ureterocele

Japan’s seasons can be divided into seventy-two sub-seasons. This concept originated in China, and I really love the idea that the seasons move through such subtle, almost imperceptible changes. It reminds me that someone’s music, or how we feel on any given day, can still matter in the world.

Kwaidan / 怪談, by Meitei / 冥丁 9 track album

I'm eating a salad with beans,sesame seeds, and wakame, miso soup with shiitake and taro, brown rice, and drinking bancha while listening to Meitei’s Kwaidan and thinking about today’s schedule. I’m reminded of how deeply food and music can influence each other. The music is echoing through my body.

Thank you! In Japanese we say “足で稼ぐ / ashi de kasegu”. “Wear down the soles (靴底を減らす / kutsuzoko wo herasu)” has a similar image, but it feels more like a gritty, door-to-door salesperson vibe to me :)
