Yeah, 2 bad actors (1 who's images ended up not being used) don't represent the whole team. This is so nothing but people get so blindsided by hating genAI that they don't do their research.
No one is saying that the person using chatgpt is good, but the fact is that one person used it, it didn't affect development in any way, and the AI image of vindicta wasn't used after being sent from one person. Valve has a disclosure because they care about this stuff. 2 people don't change that.
Again, THEY DID. one singular persons actions does not affect an entire dev team.
My guy we already are super hostile about gen ai, however accusing things of using it when they didn't actually is also extremely harmful to something people have poured their heart into

that post is extremely misleading, one dude looked up the name of a system in chatgpt (not cool but didn't actually affect development as they already knew how to make the system), and the ai image of concept vindicta was given to them but never used for her actual design.

cause they only used chatgpt for a search that google wasn't giving results for, for the name of a system they already knew what to do for. Not to mention the "ai" concept art looks nothing like in game vindicta, very misleading post
These are the only instances of ai mentioned, and they did not affect game development or concept art in seemingly any actual way, please actually read the articles guys and not just blindly follow along.
ok, reading the article and checking the video, there was ONE piece of vindicta concept art that was given to them that was ai generated, looks nothing like the official design, and they used chatGPT to literally look up the name of an algorhythm becuase of difficult google searching on the topic.
