If I could make a plea for BlueSky, it’s this: Please make a point of sharing links to articles, essays and more that you LOVE, that you enjoyed, that expanded you in some way.

I’m always surprised by the dominance of hate-shares, complaint shares on here. And I think it has a riptide effect.

They thought they had it locked up because the media wants them to win and had the Democrats on the back foot, and now the Democrats have the initiative and they have no plan. Watching them freak out is giving me life.

I don't know who first said "Walk into a room like you are a punishment sent by God," but I think about it a lot before stepping into a certain kind of meeting.

Withdrawals and protests are roiling the PEN America Literary Awards. Less than a month out from the 20th incarnation of its flagship World Voices Festival, the protests against PEN America’s response to the war on Gaza are continuing to mount. In just the last…

Writers are declining awards from PEN America because they have abdicated their stated aims as an organization in choosing not to stand for Palestine! Some are people dear to me!

IVF is an expensive and painful process. Robbing folks, especially rich folks, of their heirs. Doesn’t seem like it will go over too well. It’s quite an inconvenient thing to have to hop on your jet and go to another state for injection. And those embryos are property.

A glass one, not a metal one, so you can see if it’s full of scale, and a few packets of vinegar to clean it yourself if it’s not.

Upon arriving at the hospital a third time in the middle of her miscarriage, Watts said a nurse reassured her that “everything’s going to be OK.” Meanwhile, that nurse, whom the hospital has not identified, called the police, Watts said. In a call with a 911 dispatcher shared by CBS News, the nurse said Watts “didn’t want to look” at the fetus. She also alleged Watts “didn’t want the baby and she didn’t look,” according to the 911 audio. Watts said, however, this was not true.

“I said I did not want to look,” Watts said Friday. “I have never said I didn’t want my baby. I would have never said something like that. It just makes me angry that somebody would put those type of words in my mouth to make me seem so callous and so — so hateful.”
