"Pharmacy deserts" are becoming a reality all across the US. Of US pharmacies operating 2010-2020, ~30% (>26,000) closed by 2021. California’s closure rate was 26%. Mississippi, 41%!Pharmacies in areas with higher rates of patients on Medicaid and/or Medicare have been at greater risk for closing.
