Just finished this fine collection by @grahammort.bsky.social. Spacious, involving storytelling, but with great momentum - every detail takes the narrative forward. I always read for pleasure, but you can't help but learn from writing like this.

The wonderful veracity and evocation in this story. I worked in a former asylum at just the transitional time it describes. @grahammort.bsky.social chooses detail with such precision. I'm reading his latest collection Like Fado at the moment, and everything he describes comes to life. A joy to read.
"Our patients rose to the occasion, taking on an air of curiosity and dignity. Showing us what they might have been, if only they could have been."
Wow, @grahammort.bsky.social . I was so moved by this story. There's a full novel in here, yet the pacing and chronology is so tight.
Thanks you so much. It was a pleasure to be with you all and some really excellent writing emerged!
I'll be running an online workshop on February 11th for the European Writers Salon. Suitable for all writers, we'll look at how we actually experience experience and how that, in turn, influences our writing and the way it navigates perception, space and time.

Writers Salon, you probably should. I attended their recent meeting in Brussels and the quality of readings and discussions was outstanding.
Salt Books published my collection of short stories βLike Fado and other storiesβ in 2020. Like a lot of independent presses their future depends on the support of writers and readers everywhere. See below for details. @saltpublishing.com π¦ gofund.me/412e1a4a1

Text of poem βHidden Thingsβ, by CP Cavafy.
I found this poem again by CP Cavafy yesterday. It seems so sad and irresolute and yet hopeful too. All lives are hidden and yet there is the urge to share them. Maybe thatβs especially true of writers where the aesthetic form of their work is a veil that can be parted.
The new edition of CΕnfingΕ magazine is out and contains an eclectic range of writers!
