Also, if you havenβt seen the trailer for Diabolic Dialect I think it does a really good job of showing off the game!
Go check it out!!

ANYWHERE? What a journey
If you like games you can quickly print out and play with your friends or games that let you cast weird magic and force you to think outside the box, then check out the Kickstarter here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/sto...
This looks so wacky and cool.
A photo of Watterson Towers at ISU disappearing into the fog from before I got on the train today.
The fog in Illinois was wild today. A photo of any big building disappearing into the fog always tickles part of my brain.
Running the Print & Play of Diabolic Dialect for some old friends tonight. Should be fun!
And download the game to see how our ideas from the episode translated into the ashcan of Cry Out To God!
A game of rumors, rituals and religion!

Gamestorm S2E2 is out now!
@ryanzenith.bsky.social and I talk ritual tradition and building games around religious themes. Check out the episode!

The other night I had 10+ tabs open in 4 windows each. Itβs an information segmentation thing for me. Gotta remember the things to look at and do!
Had a moment in Mythic Bastionland which was the OSR wet dream: The party learned there was a barrier between them and the hex they wanted to get to, and the "wonder" I rolled on the spark table was "acidic stairs." I thought that was too cool to pass up, so... 1/4
This is like the FOURTH time that Iβve run into a new update of Affinity Studio hard crashing when I try to export something.
Itβs cool that itβs free and all. But come ON!
Before it was crashing on export to a network drive but now itβs justβ¦ no matter what.
Chicago has the sickest TTRPG scene.
I just backed Diabolic Dialect @Kickstarter
As a fan of free-form magic systems, this looks very cool!

Go check out @chkurk.bsky.social's hectic game about wacky wizards castin' sick spells!! π§πͺ

It was great having such an incredible gm to run it!
I wish I had the list of spells from that session - what a wild one!!
Thatβs so kind! I appreciate the shoutout!!
Aged parchment card with blackletter text - a dark fantasy poem about an ancient bone throne and a priestess of Briar Bay, with a sketched sword illustration: darknail
Aged parchment card with blackletter text - continuation of the poem featuring cursed items Darknail and Lady's Choke, with a skull mask illustration
We're almost at the next stretch goal 2 days to go! @radicaledward.bsky.social and I have cooked up some cursed items as a taste of what's to come. A plan to expand into a trifold adventure. "Cursed Weapons of Briar Bay"

A baked japanese sweet potato with purple-ish brown skin and an offwhile interior.
Baked Japanese sweet potatoes. There's a Korean store not far from me that has a little oven+warming drawer that just always has baked sweet potatoes for like a dollar.
Perfect size for snacking.
I have been toying around with this concept for YEARS. Glad someone finally beat me to it:

Oh wow, thanks for shouting it out!
Similarly, I've also been kicking the idea around for AGES. SO many random homebrew or half finished docs that just never had the juice.
Also I would implore everyone to watch this to the end - @ryanzenith.bsky.social has a really important message about the purpose of TTRPGs!!
Diabolic Dialect is not live on Kickstarter!
Check out the launch video and jump in on some of our earlybirb deals while they're still available!

Seconded!
This gave me the funniest mental image, but it DOES make a lot of sense.
Even beyond just using it as a teaching tool (which I think is useful) I think itβs useful as a design tool in the same way that pillars are.
It helps frame the entire structure of what youβre building - and it goes beyond pillars by structuring the important secondary and tertiary elements.
βActivate at BookCon 2026β is fucking killing me
We broke 100 followers!
Get in on the wacky spellcasting fun! The Kickstarter goes live tomorrow, donβt miss out!

Trans rights are human rights. ICE should be abolished. The president is a sex offender and formalizing turning the US into a fascist state. Ukraine and Palestine both deserve our support and political will. The climate crisis and biodiversity crises are real. Musk = asshole. Did I forget anything?
Building something like this while making the game can help more clearly understand what our βload bearingβ mechanics are too.
Where to prioritize teaching time. What mechanics are needed to support others. A useful tool for all angles of design imo.
