Oof, logging back on and finding my last postβfrom when someone I loved very much passed away unexpectedlyβkinda hit me right in the grief. Def going to be trying to use this space more. So much has changed since I was last here!

Had a bit of tragedy in my own life recently, so I'm pivoting away from writing the (pretty dark) story I had just begun to work on and back to another romantic comedy to hopefully lighten things up!
Really enjoying Lisa Cronβs Story Genius as I figure out my next story! I usually give up midway through craft books, but this one happens to line up really well with how I usually approach a new idea, just more refined. #authors
a meme someone labelled as "writers/artists" smiling as they try shoving tupperware containers back int he cupboard that are falling out and overflowing everywhere all labelled as "WIP"

Made myself go to the library today just for a change of scenery and was able to write 1k in under an hour! #authors
An anecdote from Rachel Syme about Toni Morrison. The story describes Morrisonβs βlateβ breakthrough as a single working mom who woke up every morning to write at 4am. Morrison got her first publishing job at 36 and her first book published at 39.
A reminder that 39 is not βold,β especially not for writers. I wish more authors would take the long view instead of feeling like failures for not publishing in their 20s. Hone your storytelling for a few decades. This is the longest long game. #writingcommunity #author
looks like a beautiful place to do some thinking!!
Itβs still cooking but itβs going to be a mystery/drama!
I decided to just jump into the first chapter of my new WIP to see what felt right for the main character's voice, and suddenly I have almost 2,000 words written π #authors #writingcommunity
Nice! What program are you using to write? It looks cool!
It was a really lovely and unexpected find!
A photo taken from a small wooden bridge with a stream underneath, looking into into the woods.
Took a nice impromptu walk after driving my partner to work. Itβs one of my favorite ways to brainstorm when I am writing something new :)
I am already digging the vibes here! looking for more #authors to follow, especially if you're in the query trenches!!
oh this is just what i was looking for, thank you!
I was just starting to get used to X after avoiding using it for years, but I'm happy to be here. I'm looking for fellow #writingcommunity folks to follow, please!
Whew. Made it!
