In Rhell i really loved adding the fire effect
Even if it is mostly used as a hazard i love all the little tiny details to how it functions, like being able to bounce off it or have the fire spread and burn things

The demo for this was very impressive. Indie character action game (think Devil May Cry) but with most of the combat mechanics cribbed from Nier Automata, right down to having an orbiting gun-pod thing and fights often turning into semi-bullet-hell scenarios.

One more shout-out for Queen Of Treasure Isle, which got another couple updates over the weekend.
A metroidvania for people who love exploration and mystery and having multiple solutions to problems. Many endings, mostly-optional combat and charming wordless story. By the Yume Nikki animation guy.

Lucid is another very promising Metroidy thing. This time with a big focus on precision, multi-jumping movement. Kinda halfway between Celeste and The Messenger, as every hit landed in mid-air gives you one more jump or air-dash, and some things can be farmed for multiple in midair.
