#ttrpg as a reminder on Halloween, my friend @gonzohistory.bsky.social one said that if they make a plushy of something it is no longer horrifying. Which is why a lot of horror monsters fall flat imo.

Also many classic monsters address fears we no longer care about in the modern age.

Random idea for an #ttrpg I had: magic is in the stars, literally. The world has become less magical due to light pollution and the further you get from bright lights the more magical things are. Also magic is literally impossible indoors.

#ttrpg remember as a player, ttrpgs are a team sport. If you know something, or can do something try to find a way to make sure that everyone can get in on it.

A secret about your character or that they know but never let out barely exists. The shared fiction is the world. Share your fun!

#ttrpg #rpg my daily basic thought: if you make a character who is going to be excited to go on the sort of adventure you are likely to go on, who will be useful on said adventure and who is willing to make close connections to other characters and npcs, you are making it easy to have a good time

Quick tip with games: make sure what will make a good game is also what is mechanically optimal in your game. A lot (not all, I know) of players use mechanics to guide them in how they play. Make your thing you want to do be the most interesting to do and the most mechanically useful thing to do
