Of all the people in the world, I feel so sorry for the Onion's reporters..how do you make outrageous stuff up when our reality is this (edited for off color language) messed up?

Please tell me that life is like choir, with that impossible to hold note, I can take a breath, while you keep singing, and then I keep singing, holding that note, while you can take a breath.
And, if you garden, plant one more row to feed the hungry. (But check that your local food bank will accept home grown produce before you take it there, or share with a neighbor who might not have time, or experience gardening.)
Yes, some people to slip 1 as if to knit, 1 as if to purl, then knit them together.
I firmly believe the only "wrong" way to knit is the way that causes you pain.
One cat wearing a green harness, obviously not liking it, while another cat looks on, on a burgundy sofa.
Picture of a cat that doesn't relate to the post...knitters of bluesky π§Άdo you know how your stitches are mounted? And why an k2togtbl isn't the same as a ssk if you are a western mount knitter? (Most American patterns are written for Western Mount, but there are other ways...do you know them?)
Yes, and no. You can, but if you knit Western Mount your top stitch will be twisted and give you a slightly different "look" to the decrease. For Eastern Mount knitters, who always knit through the back loop, it will not twist the top stitch. (They have to slip stitches around to do a k2tog).
I certainly can't grow enough to keep us fed. Hopefully enough to help offset the higher food prices to come.
Where I am, that is a factor as well. I won't be keeping chickens, but I can grow some veggies to help offset the cost of eggs.
The starts of a free form raised bed, layers of cardboard with logs and branches on top in a suburban garden.
When the Sec of Agriculture suggests people keep chickens if they want to eat eggs, in seriousness, it is time to up the back garden veggie game. πΏWhat I did for fun, now is going to be a necessity if we want to eat. π½οΈFirst layers down, more to go.π§Άknitting can wait.
I made a new post, with a (hopefully) working link.
I've heard that the link to "Dissent" isn't working, so, sorry for the double post but here it is!

A body form wearing a black graduation robe with a white collar, knitted lace, stating Dissent.
"Nothing stops them from deciding that dissent is a crime. Nothing stops them from sending journalists, activists, and political opponents to disappear behind bars." from the @godpod.bsky.social newsletter. Dissent, I say. (Pattern available from my ravelry store, www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...) π§Ά
I had the pleasure of sample knitting The Pine Cone Vest for Sarah Dawn in this months issue of Knotions Magazine. It was a fun, and so quick, knit. π§Ά
Sign me up for second breakfast!

Keep up the work! I hope it will make a difference. Today I made a list of places I can no longer, in good conscience, shop. Now the harder part, finding places I can. (Hardware stores are going to be the hardest, all the big ones are out.)
When you are a π§¦sock knitterπ§Ά, there is nothing as magical as turning the heel. So many different ways to do it...I explore some of them for you in this pattern, that let's you "pick your favorite" or "try out a new one." #knittersofbluesky

A completed brown hand knit sock and one in process, with a ball of yarn, and a coaster on a wooden table.
In a world filled with darkness, I have been looking for three good things in each day. Todays are: Knittingπ§Ά, deep stash yarn, and friends and family I can lean on. #3goodthings #knitting #knittersofbluesky
It's lookin great!
Life is too short to save this yarn for "special". Knit Picks Felici Worsted π§Ά Not available now, but, hopefully again in the future. Pattern coming soon! #knittersofbluesky #knitting #yarn
The big question is, how much will be enough?
Thank you! The pattern will still be there when you finish your top. π
Thank you!
More than impeached, he needs to be removed from office, along with his VP and best buddy.
Time, weird stuff, how is it Thursday already? Do π§Άknitters do #throwbackthursday here? As a designer, it is fun, every now and then to go back through my portfolio and see which patterns stay, or become, popular over time. Still one of my favorite knits.

Two and a bit pairs of the same design of sock, one on sock blockers, on a table.
On another platform a knitter π§Ά asked if it was ok to knit the same pattern twice, but only pay for it once. As a designer, please, knit the pattern as many times as you would like. "So nice, I knit it twice" and a call out of the designer and pattern is the biggest compliment a designer can get.
I'm thinking of diving back into blogging about knitting π§Ά, cookingπ©βπ³, a menace of a new kitten π(she's adorable) and gardeningπ‘. Does anyone still read blogs?

A friend posted about knitting with black yarn...it can be hard, but sometimes the results, especially when the recipient is very knit worthy, are worth it!

No greater love can one have, than to knit with black yarn! Especially if you have to pick up stitches!
I love knitting socks, too, and it would bother me to not have the symmetry.
I would notice, I am not sure about how closely anyone else would look at the sock.
