Perfectly pleasant and inoffensive, but one of those films where you've seen every single story beat countless times before. You knew where it was going within 5 minutes, and it wasn't particularly funny in how it did it. Some 'laughs' were pretty cringe. 4/10

This was wild, and I loved it for it. Not every swing hit, but plenty did. There"s no great cinema if we're staying safe, MOR and predictable. Jessie Buckley was fantastic, and certain moments had me out of my seat. Not perfect, but some spectacle. 7/10

Trailer sold it as a wacky romp, but it was pretty slow going with no real laughs. Glen Powell is a very likable actor, but his character brought out no sympathy, or even fun anti-hero vibes. Just a nob. The 'sting' in the tail was also pretty blunt. 5/10 #HowToMakeAKilling #100FilmsIn2026

Slashers don't really do much for me, but there was one really funny kill in this. Pretty forgettable otherwise, although it was great to see such a busy cinema on a Thursday night, and the audience were getting into it. 5/10

Seen this kind of thing plenty, but pretty entertaining thanks to a fun cast. Could have done with shaving off 10 minutes, but didn't stretch out to 2 hours, like plenty of films!

Bloody enjoyed this! Been a few good films already this year, and definitely going to remember this one come December. Not entirely original concept, but done with energy, style and dark humour that landed hard, at least for me. 👍 Very good. 8/10

Pretty good fun, this. All four leads were decent, and it built to a satisfying climax. Not a whole lot more to say other than this was a solid flick. 7/10

Visually appealing, but the comedy was cringe and straight out of a sitcom. The emotion was lacking and the sex was dull. For one of the most famous books, this was pretty forgettable.

Not read it, but didn't expect Cathy to be an unlikeable, conniving nob. Who knew? Stunning sets, costumes and scenery, but it swerved between dumb comedy and epic emotional plays, and neither landed. All rather underwhelming. Clunes was great, though. 4/10

Nothing revolutionary, but a very good film without an inch of fat on it. Tightly paced, engaging, brilliantly acted, with a level of depth to the characters. Really enjoyed it. 8/10

Finally got this one in. Not awful, but pretty forgettable in all honesty. Didn't warrant the runtime, and was a bit underwhelming as a result. There's a much more tightly paced film in there somewhere. 5/10

The plot progressed like video game missions, the action noisy, messy and hard to follow. The rest was monotonous and dreary, with the constant camera flash extremely obnoxious. Think I fell asleep towards the end, as suddenly it was over. 2/10

Intensely claustrophobic and heightened. Not able to relate directly with too much, but does a very good job of making you feel it. Was kind of relieved when it finished, but only because it did such a good job. 7/10

A lot of fun, even if it did sag a bit in the middle. Couldn't tell exactly where it was going to go, and was a pretty fun ride, all told. 8/10

This may as well be called Jason Statham Movie 26. It was a nice surprise to see Daniel Mays, but otherwise it was by the numbers and utterly forgettable. I mean, I didn't hate it, but it was just total cinematic filler. 4/10

Glacial pacing hindered what had potential to be far more effective. Could have trimmed half an hour and told the same story. Didn't hate it, and it did have some heart, but my mind was left wandering several times. 5/10

Not a bad film, and a couple of good performances, but just wasn't what I was in the mood for. Will resonate with some I'm sure, but didn't click. Not bad, just not for me. 5/10
This and Primate. Not much luck yet with Secret Screenings in 2026! 😅

Went in cold. No trailers, haven't seen or played it (presuming it's from a video game), so may well be missing some context. That said, it was boring, derivative, nonsensical and ultimately very, very dull. At least Primate was silly. This was 😴 2/10

Decent enough whodunnit (not too tricky to figure out), though one or two eye roll moments. Pratt was alright, the judge could have shown less emotion for me. Not great, not awful. Fine. 6/10 #Mercy #FilmSky #100FilmsIn2026

Found the last one messy, unfocussed and tonally inconsistent. This picked a lane, stuck with it, and it paid off. Not without its eccentricities, but an engaging and enjoyable film. I'm now actually looking forward to the next one. 8/10

Sucker for anything in Japan, especially stuff set in (mostly) reality and that don't play up the "Woah, Japan's so crazy!" thing. This was touching, well acted and enjoyable. Also had a little something to say. Massive nostalgia points too, obvs. 😅 8/10 #RentalFamily #100FilmsIn2026 #FilmSky

Subjectively a good film, but didn't really do much for me. Didn't hate it, but left me cold, despite the Oscar-bait (and worthy) performances. Not especially glad I saw it. 😂 6/10 #Hamnet #100FilmsIn2026 #FilmSky

Aah, the fabled January slop I've heard about! 🐵 This was every bad slasher you've ever seen minus any redeeming style or humour. Trope after cliché, dreadful dialogue after dumb choice. The gamble of a #SecretScreaming! 😂 3/10 (might even be a little generous)

Starting the year strong! Yet to see how much is embellished, but Hudson and Jackman were something else. 😁 Impossible not to smile watching those two. Don't know much Neil Diamond, but still had a wonderful time. Laughed, cried, inspired in equal measure. 9/10 #100FilmsIn2026 #SongSungBlue
