Midwesterner. Skeptical, particularly of "economic anxiety." Trying to stay open-minded but generally, they are who we thought they were. Michigan fan. Dems need to reckon w fact Trump won 48% of Latino voters. Very disrespectful to Beck.

How much do you think the keyboardist is going to sing on the new tour?
My guess is quite a bit.
I don't have Blue Cross, but I do have docs at U of M, and I tend to believe the insurance company.
U of M prices at a premium, something their responses skirt. Sometimes that makes sense (e.g., some of their specialists). But others, e.g., MRIs? Nope.

Not even wearing a knee brace?
Dang.
Staying in the Big 80s -- the algo served this up: a RATT "AI" album.
It's...shockingly realistic. Not perfect (e.g., a bit flat) and certain songs are more "off". But "Last Call Lullaby"? Sounds basically like their pretty good / not great, late-80s stuff. Creepy.

Van Halen is probably my favorite band ever, but their brand management is D-league stuff
They finally released, 40 years later, a video for their biggest song w Sammy
OK, cool!
Except it's outtakes (from LWAN?) and much of the miming doesn't match. Amateur hour.

These dopes wouldn't know what it means even if you had Ulysses S. Grant himself burning their gold-leafed plantations down.
In any case, when Dan said this, I thought something was up...

He's a good guy who gave his all, but last year was his "paid for his past service to the team, not for his current abilities and availability."
Winning orgs don't give people two of those.
His 2026 contract would have been an overpay. Lions need better at LT to compete.
Glad they're moving on.
Of course.
YouTube TV began as a cheaper cable replacement.
Then YouTube (original flavor) has become a TV replacement by becoming a hub for everyone's YT channels powered by a recommendation engine.
Real easy to add a "YT Sports" channel you have to pay $9.99/month for.
If people missed it, I thought this interview w Sean Maloney (keeping that House of Rep to fin industry pipeline hot!) this morning was interesting.
He did his job pretty well, but when Becky Q started asking about death markets, he got a bit Nathan Thurm-esque.

Possible. The K shaped economy plus the AI craziness is enough to prop up GDP and the stock market?
I don't know. All I know is the vibes are terrible, and I've been shocked the job numbers haven't really been showing it. Now (and looking back to adj December) they are starting to.
Ha ha, he started to calmly bring up tariffs and how manufacturing jobs were already down, which got Santelli going (and there are some stats recently that have been positive for manufacturing), and then he wisely demurred for further discussion until they talk to the Fed Chairman.
He's the best.
So we have rising prices, negative job growth...and positive GDP?
Stagflation with a twist.
@steveliesman.bsky.social is holding himself back from going in on Joe and Rick and just standing up & yelling, "WHAT DID I TELL YOU!?!". He's a good man.
Hey, another win for prediction markets!
They were edging up all day that the number would be above 50k.
(I think it was at 63% right before it was released)
#kalshi
Is it good or bad when the data now matches the (bad) vibes?
Ugh.
"edges"
Rick Santelli almost choked & passed out, on air, reading those shocking job numbers.
Joe Kernen is an embarrassment @cnbc.com
He asked the Conn. AG "Well, Biden had tariffs. Why can't these new Trump tariffs be left on?"
The AG: "B/c the new tariffs are against the law!"
Joe rails about communism & "rule of law" etc, but Trump's govt steals $150B+ from biz and it's no big deal.
...and if not?
Stagflation, baby!
Either way, no rate cuts for awhile.
If you're thinking, "That doesn't sound like something Orwell would say"...
...give yourself a gold star.

An example of my personal bubble, and perhaps Bluesky as well: I don't think I could name one joke by these two guys. And the only time I see them come across the skyline (which isn't often) is someone commenting on them in a negative way.
They can sell out SoFi.

I know they are making this "centrist" move for more than just straight business & profit reasons, but they need to be prepared to lose a lot of money. Americans are not in the mood for "the middle"

Trump's trade policies have exactly the impact on US manufacturing that most macroeconomists said they would.
This is one of those cases where, if Chuck Shumer is paying attention, he should accept their premise and force them to go higher:
"Oh, it's a billion a day? And you say the war will only last 2-4 weeks? OK, we'll vote for $28 billion, then."
Force them to make it clear they want more $$$.
A problem with being uncommitted is that sometimes other people then are empowered to make commitments for you.

These guys are constantly telling on themselves that they can’t imagine anyone acting on an actual principle. Protesters? Must be getting paid. Bishops noticing that Jesus had some thoughts on welcoming the stranger? Gotta be a payday in there.
That tells you all you need to know about how Nate (and Gayle King, for that matter) view what their job is
It’s been the big problem for Dems election strategy the past decade: that “people of color” have some sort of cohesive group identity, when this guy (and millions of other Cuban, Mexican etc Americans) don’t have any affinity with black people (to put it mildly)
