No Seriously I Think They're Giants
GUYS RUN THEY'RE REALLY REAL GIANTS!!!!!
Dammit Ian I almost broke my screen trying to reach out and skritch the good boi! He looks like a sweetheart! How's he been settling in?
Woohoo!
So what you're saying is we have to buy all your stuff so you can keep up with the never ending stream of destroyed toys that I've heard inexorably follow huskies around?
I must be doing something right because either I'm blocked or I blocked them.
I don't know if I'm impressed or terrified that someone has found worse movies than me.....
My new favourite fact is the one I learnt today. Apparently Nicko McBrain, the former live drummer for Iron Maiden (he's since retired from touring) was on an episode of Sooty. Let me tell you, hearing Matthew Corbett introducing "Our friend Nicko who plays in a band called Iron Maiden" was a trip!
I have vowed never to be sniffy about movie casting ever again since I got absolutely destroyed by Heath Ledger as the Joker. I knew he was a good actor obviously but I had no IDEA he could pull off something as dark and unhinged as Joker.
Thank you!
I think I bought her to use as a Beckoner for my Malifaux Brewmaster crew. That never materialised and she's been left half painted. When I was sorting out some of my Malifaux models I thought it'd be nice to get her finished! #wargames #wargaming #wargame #wargamingcommunity #MiniatureGaming
Robert Dyas. It was a pig to put together but it looks really good and it fits loads of paints! www.robertdyas.co.uk/vidaxl-rolli...
Cat twin! This is Summer and I can't say she'd be happy to meet you because she'd be terrified and hiding under the bed. She's INCREDIBLY shy & timid with anyone who isn't me or my partner.
For as disappointed and disillusioned as I am with the evergrowing wait for The Winds of Winter, I still have to concede that GRRM is a great writer with a really strong talent for world building. I've just started reading Fire & Blood, the history of Westeros and the Targeryans & it's fantastic.
Pony adventurers! Because you can't make magical ponies boring colours now can you?
You do know. We knew our boy cat Oscar was ours when he walked onto my lap & purred, then walked onto my partners' lap & purred and then curled up inbetween us on his foster parents' sofa and went to sleep. Purring.
And I knew Summer was ours when she licked my hand when we collected her.
I've been looking for AGES to find a way to store my paints that wasn't "multiple boxes on the floor" and I finally found this awesome drawer unit. There was plenty of spce for all my paints and my RPG bits too. AND there's an empty drawer I can put more paint in!
If we're putting our names down for awards then if someone wants to send me an Oscar then I'm entirely open to the idea.
Smash them on the kitchen counter until they split into segments?
Right?! He got seriously intense about it as well. Like the word models had killed his pet budgie or something, it was just bizarre and a bit scary.
Never had a GW employee direct me to Wood Elves though. Although in fairness that'd work on me because Wood Elves rule.
I've had 3 shitty encounters with men in wargaming. One was in a random independent shop (sold me the wrong thing when I was a total newbie), one was about painting & one guy took personal offence at me using the word model instead of miniature. He was genuinely quite aggressive, it was concerning.
This is my very minor annoyance for the night. Thank you for listening and remember to tip your waiter.
He has agreed that this is maybe too much hammering to do in a flat with downstairs neighbours at 7pm. The upshot is I now have 6 halfbuilt drawers and the rest of the bits of the unit cluttering up my flat until Sunday instead of just one nice big self contained box.
I then check the rest of the instructions.
The guide rails for the drawers need to be hammered in (there's 12 & each has 3 pegs to be hammered in).
The backs for the drawers need to be hammered in (there's 6 with 2 nails for each).
The back needs to be nailed on so all those need to be hammered in.
I suggest that maybe doing too much hammering on the floor at 7pm is going to be to a bit annoying for the downstairs neighbours but he is fully confident it's only a teeny bit of hammering & once he's done with drawers it's all good and the rest will be easy and quiet. This is called foreshadowing.
He gets the fronts, sides and bottoms attached to each drawer. It's a bit of brute strngth and he has to use a hammer in a couple of places to sort of "start" the screw going into the wood.
So he merrily starts off and he decides to do the drawers first which is the last step. He does not look at the rest of the instructions closely. <Insert ominous music here>
We ordered a set of drawers for me to store my paints in. They arrived today, awesome sauce. Partner decided he's going to build them tonight, without telling me this idea. My plan was to wait until Sunday when we have a free day and loads of time.
To set the scene; we live in a fairly small 2 bedroom flat. Space is at a premium and we're always looking for new storage ideas & ways to save space. My bugbear lately is how I store my hobby paints as they're all in random plastic boxes and just look untidy.
