When I fought akais jam for awhile I was like wdym she doesn't need cards to do her thing like rev2, she just gets real DP for free and gets knockdown off air combos without needing a stock first? and everyone is just built like that

also randomly stapling onto this, SOTE is incredible and honestly getting there at like level 40 and having to go back and forth is also really fun. Running into a dungeon and being like "fuck its all undead this sucks" and being able to do it cause I remembered sacred blade exists rules I want more

Elden Ring and SOTE are incredible but unfortunately fromsoft has yet to see their true best possible product:

I had to think of some weirdo games that were still playable quickly, and if you haven't played either noita or E.Y.E divine cybermancy one of those might be interesting hell ye

Its beautiful anytime a nightreign/souls boss is like, dog there is no strategy or plan start swinging we are going to die

Also everdark balancer is so rad its like being put in a big microwave to be jumped by 7 people and then it turns on for a minute and gets even worse over and over (positive)

Trying to play nightreign scholar on day 2 is some genuine prisoners dilemma shit like, boot into a game with 3 cursors on him but know we are all gonna cannibalize eachother and someone has to move
I think the only nightfarer who you do not want more than one of just by nature, but v cool design

Yeah raw drive rush is just a weird neutral interaction I don't mind on most everyone except like bison and deejay, its annoying sometimes but eh
Drive rush cashout stuff is just terrible, why am I getting obliterated off one buffered button or holding insane + frames and its never bad

Can't keep making this post every 3 months but its so close to being a sick game, the last 3 characters have been so sick. Viper is SO cool. But the drive system is the dumbest system in an otherwise interesting game I have ever seen

Praying for the day they shoot drive rush and drive rush cancel combos into the ground like strive shot wild assault dead. Genuinely what an awful mechanic in an otherwise cool game
Would rather fight a hundred special move sols in danger time than one ken or ryu who just does c,mk > dr for 65% life

It turns out I can fuck with a character whos execution is a lil hard as long as their gameplan is simple as hell, she either rushes tf in with incredibly good tools or she seismos and everything else is extra

This character is so fuckin sick I'm gonna actually keep grinding til I hit the part where it stops bein fun

I also got glasses finally this year and was like oh fuck this is what lights are supposed to look like, hell yeah

Only a few bummers.
-it still doesn't run great (curse of UE5 + GSC)
-the big combined map kinda loses a sense of distance and scale + cuts some important areas
-still buggy
-weirdly it felt like the old factions barely had any part in anything? But that might be part of the message of STALKER 2

I think the characters are all fascinating and its hard to be certain about anything throughout the story and I feel like I only saw like 1/3rd of what was really happening.
It purposefully messes with you a lot, especially if you're familiar with prior STALKER games and has a few real mean punches

Finally finished STALKER 2 now that its stabilized. Ran straight through only doing main quest, took about 50 hours according to save file.

Its definitely a STALKER game, had a lot of interesting ideas and the ending I got felt great. Immediately setup a new save for another run later with mods

Runbacks in games really are getting kind of ridiculous. You lose to Chronos in Hades 2 and they make you run through all three previous bosses on the way to his boss room.
