A slightly fat cat snuggled against a leg on a desk chair.
The fluffy head of the same cat peeking over the edge of the desk chair, with one mittened paw gently touching the human’s leg.
I need to eat lunch in my break between meetings, but I don’t think I’m legally allowed to leave my chair.

But many (most?) people don’t know that. They get them mixed up and think we “hone in on” things.

The number of people who don’t understand the difference between “hone” and “home” (verbs) is……honestly not that surprising. After all, we don’t send homing pidgins or hone swords anymore.

Box art by @abigaillarson.bsky.social. Art direction by Lauren Panepinto. Original cover art (on the cases, endpapers, and interior) by Lisa Marie Pompilio. There were so many other people involved too, but I’m running out of room and really should get back to work on my other Orbit projects!

The gold-embossed spines of “For the Wolf” and “For the Throne” are visible inside the box and are guarded on the right by a gold lion bookend. Bits of other Orbit books are visible to the left and shelf below.
The opening endpaper of “For the Wolf” (red with a black pattern of trees and wolves) facing the full-color author-signed tip-in using the original cover art, with a red ribbon lying gracefully across the page. The gilt page edges are just visible.
The fantabulous boxed set of the Wilderwood Duology by Hannah Whitten is on sale today!! The @orbitbooks.bsky.social team worked so hard on this, and we’re all so happy with how it turned out! Cloth-bound, gilt-edged, author-signed, be-ribboned amazingness. www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/hanna...

A spiral of fabric: mottled red and white with stars and astrological symbols, dark gray with black stripes of sunbursts and stars, ombré gray, pale gray, and light gray
White bronze owl button with a label reading: Sharp-Eyed Owl Button
A Limited Edition Original White Bronze Button from Robert W Gilmore.
This button is No. 7 in a limited production of 50 white bronze buttons.
This button was cast and finished in the United States by Hutch's Casting Co., Albuquerque, NM.
It was produced from my proprietary master and moulds using the lost wax casting process.

Four sewing patterns: men’s vests, costume jackets with tails, flouncy historical shirts, and women’s pants
I’m starting a new cosplay project, and I am so excited about it! I’m not sure I’m happy with the ombré lining; it’s a little too green to match the other grays. But that owl button is going to be the star of the show!

Taking a moment to smile remembering how (years ago) my mom pronounced LinkedIn as “Link-e-dink” before I corrected her.

A friend in college once did an art project called, I think, "The First Page" about how intimidating and seemingly significant the first page of a journal is and perhaps shouldn't we just skip it?
