Sorry if this feels out of the blue but I'm extremely upset at a friend who moved out of state, coming to visit, and then cancelling on our plans because "I took drugs last night and I can't bring myself to do anything." Haven't seen her in years and this happens. Thanks.

That is not to say "hey if you do weed I can't associate with you." But please be aware that I am -very- much against drug use on a personal level. I don't want to talk about it - you do you, but please don't tell me about how high you are or what you want to take. Your business, but leave me out.

So to be up-front about something: I am very anti-drug. I respect a person's autonomy and choices, but I cannot associate myself with it. My brother started with pot and peer pressure led him to a heroin OD. A high school best friend has quickly lost touch with the world as she moves to shrooms.

But you said it yourself: there is only so much time in a day, and there's only so much you. You are -not- obligated to give every bit of yourself away. Friendship is not determined by the frequency with which you spend time with others.

Don't burden yourself with guilt you don't deserve.

Well first interview done and already told I'll be going on to a second phone interview. Anxious but excited and might do well in this new position! Def a pay increase too which is huge.

Honestly accounting sounds like a job I'd do well in, but I have no degree in such and no prior experience to use as a stepping stone. x3;

Reaaaaaally hoping that this banking job interview will work out so I can get out of retail and its many hellish experiences. I'm sure the new job will come with its own headaches and customer nonsense but I think I'm ready to trade in one poison for another. x.x

It's sort of mixed. Some stores honor it - at least you get a sale, even at half price. And it's become an expectation apparently. But that's why I point out that our signs specify to remove the assumption and people STILL assume. It's just a little baffling.

Like I get the frustration, and I can relate to that! But that's why we specify, rather than leave a blank sign that just says BOGO. But ofc these are the same customers who see B1G1 50% off and only see "50% off!!!!"

Literally had one woman tell me "We don't come in here to read the signs!"

Sigh.

Customers continue to baffle me.

In some stores, BOGO means if you just get one it's at half price. Some companies run that promotion. But ours specifically has on our signs: "Must buy required quantity for sale to be applicable."

Don't scream at a cashier because our policies are different. =_=

Bleh. Feeling imposter syndrome as I stare at my word files again trying to write and stalling after the first page or so.

I have *ideas* but I'm struggling to connect all of the pieces of them and so I just sort of fizzle out. I've got so many WIPs but I finish maybe one short story a year...

I'll get the broom to sweep up the dust...
