YouTube video by Chris McFeely
TRANSFORMERS: THE BASICS on BIG CONVOY is now live! Just in time for his new Age of the Primes toy, we return to the Japanese side of the world of Beast Wars and finally address the elephant in the room - the Maximal mammoth so powerful, they call him the One-Man Army!

4 panel comic, black & white
P1: A large monolithic onyx black spacecraft hangs heavy-yet-weightless in low orbit over a planet.
A caption box booms: "MEANWHILE! IN THE FAMILY VEHICLE!"
From a triangular window on the front of the spacecraft, a voice yells "ARE WE THERE YET?!"
P2: Cut to the interior of the craft. Sat at the controls in the cockpit is a husky man wearing what could be described as "Jack Kirby Chic." Behind him, we can see something with beady eyes looming as he answers "verily, my loin-spawn, I say thee once again: NAY!"
P3: We reveal the abomination that is the pilot's child, sat sedentary in a chair atop a robotic arm. Head far too large for their body, they yell "but oh father mine: ARE WE THERE YET?!"
P4: Closeup on the father's beleaguered face, as he quietly says "by fuck" through gritted teeth
MEANWHILE!

Two extremely poor transfer windows are coming back to haunt the club, which was only worsened by the injury crisis on midfield. Where is the logic in replacing Malen with Bailey, why sign Elliott and Guessand if they are not wanted?

It’s a bit hard for the people of Iran to rise up while the bombs and missiles rain down. And when the bombardment stops, the men with guns are all too likely to be ready for more repression.

Zack Polanski gets under the skin of exactly the right people
The Green leader has yet to advance workable, deeply thought through solutions to Britain’s biggest problems—but nor has Reform
The wailing, gnashing of teeth and sheer catastrophising over the Greens’ by election victory! Maybe it had something to do with their policies, most (not all) of which resonate with many people. And a rather good candidate. app.prospectmagazine.co.uk/story/72550/...

Today's by-election is another illustration of the problems with FPTP.
The result may tell us less about what voters want to happen than whether they can game the system effectively to stop a result most *don't* want.
The electoral system should not be an obstacle that voters have to work around.

It's sad to see people who had never heard of Democracy Volunteers yesterday all over social media trashing them.
They've been around for a decade & are partly funded by the (left-leaning) Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
We protest when the right trashes these groups. The left shouldn't do it either.

I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.

I think you're right: it's not that AI is effective (who knows 🤷) but businesses follow the trend and may reduce staff numbers. The rich talk about UBI as a solution but I am guessing they would baulk at paying for it. So who knows what the job market will look like in a decade?

We hear way too much about angry Britain, blue-red Britain. What about the Britain of Save the Children, Oxfam, the RSPCA, the RNLI, popular environmentalism, the Britain of London's absolute triumph since its 80s nadir, its civic universities, the Britain of volunteering, giving, hoping?
