This is the part I don’t get. How does that spoofing help C-UAS?

This week at TenguCon, our own Henry Danielson will be sharing about the Aerospace Village and outer space attacks and the space grand challenge! Stay tuned for all the fun.
Our crew is heading to #AICSC2025! Catch Tyler Valdens, @hahnakane.bsky.social (Dark Wolf Solutions) & Shinichi Kan (GMO Cybersecurity) leading hands-on #DroneHacking & #SatelliteSecurity sessions alongside the DEF CON team.

Via this web service, text messages can be sent to the cockpit. For obvious reasons, we did not try that. Sent messages could be viewed. Unfortunately, RTX did not respond to our vulnerability report. The account was disabled.

"New Far Side comics" was definitely not on my bingo card for this week. They're not bad!

Didn’t get a chance to attend Adam and Robert’s Behind the Badge talk for DC33? Check it out here and learn the secrets to what it took to make a badge to listen to Air Traffic Control.

Flying in back today. Got an unexpected wind tunnel view of the wing.
Woah, that’s awesome!
The way Miegs Field was handled heavily biases my views of how things are done in Chicago.

I've lost my patience with the accounts posting "BREAKING: Reports of heavy GPS interference in the Caribbean!"

We had the same hardware at DC33, but with an add-on to listen to ATC. www.aerospacevillage.org/dc33-badge

The @aerospacevillage.bsky.social badge team (aka Rare Circuits) is incredible. @zap.zapistan.net is the over here on BlueSky.
Normie cyber people it brings me no pleasure to announce the aerospace cyber people absolutely cooked us
Makes sense. Perhaps magnitude wasn’t the right word. When talking spoofing with other pilots, I find it’s good for them to try to make sense of how this might manifest itself. For example, showing spoofing is not uniform is helpful. My use case is narrow so I understand it may not apply broadly. :)
I’m a fan of the teleport lines because it better shows the effects and the magnitude. When describing GPS spoofing to others, it can be tough to quantify the effects without lines like that. Admittedly, I’m not often looking at charts like this.
As we all recover from DEF CON, a quick note from our Board Chair.
Striving to Promote the great work happening in aerospace infosec is part of our mission.
We featured Wagiha Mariam's free, open-source satellite tracker using CesiumJS and Satellite.js, aiming to make orbital data more accessible. She's on LinkedIn if you want to learn more.
The front of our new SAO badge, with the Aerospace Village and Rare Circuits logos. The shape is that of a pilot with a helmet on.
The backside with a (redacted) chip, headphone jack, toggle switch, etc. It says Aerospace Village at the top.
First teaser photos of this year’s @aerospacevillage.bsky.social badge for DEF CON 33 designed by the Rare Circuits team. This add-on extends your Aerospace Village ADS-B Badge from last year (or anything else you plug it into!). We are super excited to get it into everyone’s hands this week.
@defcon.bsky.social is almost here and you won't want to miss what we’re bringing! Our lineup is packed with awesome minds, mind-blowing ideas, and enough aerospace content to make your badge go wild with excitement.

Had a blast today at Defend the Airport! If you’re in the area tomorrow check out the fireside at noon! #DefendTheAirport
Thanks. Will read more about PMTiles. Mapsforge is another one I came across, but not sure if it offers any advantages in this use case.
Yes, the device would ideally be used 100% offline. We built the ads-b functionality to support offline viewing of aircraft details. Offline maps would be a nice touch. Can do it, but just feel like we could do it better if I knew GIS better.
They are not static. Would like to be able to render different theming or details on the fly. The dataset is land/country/state boundaries and airports. For the airport data, ideally to include runway and taxiway data so you can see planes lined up for takeoff.
@robintw.bsky.social Hi Robin. Random internet guy here hoping you’ll give some guidance. If you were trying to generate worldwide vector tiles for display on this github.com/AerospaceVil..., what format and tools would you use? Currently using OSM->Osmium->tilemaker->mbtiles->QtPBFImagePlugin
#TBT to our DEFCON 29 badge. More than just a stylish accessory, it offered something for everyone. The detailed artwork, a collaboration w/ flysurreal.com provided a cockpit-like experience & FAA-compliant lighting.
Our 2025 badge is in the works and it’s going to be awesome! @defcon.bsky.social
