suddenly looking back at those Jalen Carter for Maxx Crosby rumors from yesterday with a slightly more inquisitive eye
great for JD tho. became a real fun player last year.

They have made one actively difficult decision in the Briere era and that decision (trading Sean Walker) probably cost them a playoff spot in 2024 and they have just been afraid of letting go of anything since then.
The Flyers’ problem is that they understand that they are in a rebuild and need better players than the ones they have and yet at nearly every opportunity they have been given to change the players they have, the front office has instead said “actually, we like the guys we have”.
very funny reading about how “the Eagles are sticking to their price with AJ Brown” and saying “hell yeah they better” while also reading “the Flyers stuck to their price on Rasmus Ristolainen” and descending into complete personal madness
It’s a reasonable shot to take! But it’s an established middle-six winger for a guy who hasn’t yet proven he’s an NHLer despite having multiple years to do so. It’s a low-floor, high-ceiling move, which is something they should be doing anyways.
In general terms RE: Jiricek, I have some skepticism about guys who get traded twice within four years of being drafted in the top-10. The median outcome here is that the Flyers are worse.
But knowing that you had to deal a winger, there’s an upside case for Jiricek that makes it worth the shot.

You know what, good for Sean Couturier.
I make fun of ESPN’s hockey operation a lot so I do want to say here I really enjoy Bob Wischusen
Drysdale knew that was in as soon as he shot it lol
That is absolute nonsense (complimentary)
lmao his reaction here at 0:15 bsky.app/profile/nhlg...
Rick Tocchet seeing Matvei Michkov on the ice in overtime
Michkov playing 4D chess taking a penalty late enough in regulation that it would actually get him on the ice in OT. Amazing.
another goal
ESPN broadcast just showing us Matvei Michkov sitting on the bench for a solid 15 seconds while play was happening and missing a near-goal for the Rangers is honestly the content I am here for
“I would have thought this would be a better Flyers start,” says Ray Ferraro, for some inexplicable reason
Is it bad when the other team possesses the puck for more time than you do on your own 6-on-4
Wow maybe Michkov would of scored there if he had hit the treadmill a couple times during the break?????
I was confused by this reference for a second and then I kept scrolling and lmao
Flyers look good (real)
The Capitals nearly won the President’s Trophy last year, are solidly out of a playoff position right now this season, and the entire time if you had asked or do ask me “are they good?” I’d have no idea. Sure? I guess? Maybe not? Idk?
Wow the Flyers are back (threateningly)
“What do you mean J. Edgar wouldn’t have been ripping shots and housing brewskis with the boys in the locker room? How can you assume that?”
You can kind of tell he knows how bad the hypothetical is because he tries to come up with a new one mid-stream but I cannot get over how embarrassing it is when he says “how can you make that assumption?” in response to the very obvious problem with said hypothetical that the host then points out
“The rule was designed to stop guys from load management, how were we supposed to know that players who got injured would be affected by it?” Because players get injured and they miss games man! it’s sports!
it is genuinely so funny that everything that has happened this year was entirely foreseeable when the rule was put in place but the NBA enacted it anyways because they were mad at Joel Embiid and now that the foreseeable stuff has happened they’re realizing the rule was bad.
Pls
they received their medals one after the other and I almost yelled again
