Reminder that your artistic identity is comprised of all the things you are BAD at doing as well as the things you are good at doing, and leaning into this fact is where authenticity and uniqueness springs.

Everyone who tried to draw around me and started drawing LOVED it at the beginning because of their QUICK IMPROVEMENT. Then quit when they hit The Wallβ’οΈ.
But it's when you hit The Wallβ’οΈ that you NEED to push through with practice!! And you gotta do it for yourself, because it's ALWAYS worth it! π€

Reminder to other indie dev teams especially new teams. Most of us are happy to share advice and give feedback on publisher/funding/platform deals and terms. There are some shady predatory biz weasels that will take advantage of you as soon as your game starts to pop off. Please reach out.
A friend asked me what's the best place to buy my game to support me. I told them it didn't matter, and they said they wanted to make sure their support was the most it could be.
So here's a 100% guide to supporting me and my game.

pixel art of a little isometric island surrounded by water.
Did some isometric stuff for the first time for #pixelparlorweekly
this is one of the more fun things about doing 3D games in GameMaker. it's not difficult to kitbash whatever 3D scene you want in Unity at a passable degree of quality, but doing it in GM means you have to be pretty creative to solve a lot of problems that you could take for granted elsewhere
it's all just art. "porn" is just art that makes you horny, in precisely the way that "horror" is art that makes you scared and "metroidvania" is art that makes you write video essays

I *just* updated this fantasy font to:
- make it more readable;
- add (even more) languages;
- reduce its pri-- wait, is this a mistake? I was supposed to INCREASE the price, and yet...

A screenshot of IE6, open to Neopets' Explore page. The browser is branded with a red Q logo of some ISP, since browsers back then would let ISPs brand them to imply it was the ISP's legitimate software. Below menus and clearly labelled buttons, we have a labelled address bar, a links toolbar, a Google toolbar (with search and adblock built in!), a Yahoo toolbar (with search and common Yahoo links built in). The page shows a yellow sidebar with googie font (Pet Central, Create a Pet, Neomail, World, Explore, Chat, Games, Shops, News, Help, Login, Logout); a banner in the same googie font for Explore Neopia; an event ("Something has happened:" - image of a green brutish Neopet - "GRUNDO MUST EAT NEOPETS!!! GRUNDO FETCH NEOPETS FOR MASTER!"); and a map of Neopia, each having its own games and lore to explore. The taskbar shows 12 fast-start icons, three Internet Explorer windows, a notepad window, and a MSPaint window; the system tray shows 5 resident programs beside the clock.
Thanks to not-the-artist on Reddit, we have this screenshot of Neopets - and the kind of browser that would serve Neopets. (Source.)

You, an individual, cannot "fix" the whole world. You can act at the scale of your life. You should act at the scale of your life.

It's time... Today is the initial release of the chapter 1 demo for #DioramaBreak! I'm the lead character artist, focusing mainly on the (pixel art) dialogue portraits and CGs, but I also helped with character designs and guided the overall art direction early on

An illustration of Kris from Deltarune. The imagery is from Chapter 4 of the game. Kris looks at the viewer in their Dark World outfit as they push their younger self onto piano keys, face down. Four swords pierce their torso. Above them, a Dark fountain shoots upward, with the small silhouette of the Roaring Knight in the middle. The text on the bottom reads: The distance between two.

I wanted to make chiptune but couldn't find the muse, so instead I updated my LSDJ palettes. I have a ton of palettes I've saved over the years which you can download here: shorturl.at/Kgd7v
These themes are named (in order):
OCCULT
MEMORYLEAK
SOFT
GLOW
ARCADECARPET
CHAMELEON

announcing demo release date soon. chorus machine is about cycles of creator and creation, your art escaping you, getting your ass kicked by desperate ten thousand year old robots, the inevitability of human community, and cruel girls being insanely jealous of each other
they don't tell you this, but game design is actually quite complicated and difficult...
Due to popular demand, here is a demonstration video of how to make 3D printed PCBs using just vector drawing software, a 3D printed (PETG filament for mine) and self-adhesive copper tape. Any questions, let me know!

Scarlet Hollow Episode 5 is finally OUT!
Our vision was to make a game where your choices *actually* matter, instead of just being window dressing.
930,000 branching words later, no two runs should ever feel the same.
If Slay the Princess has no wrong decisions, Scarlet Hollow has no right ones.

Yes. Granular synthesis
you should write because you love your story so much that it's all you can think about, and you should also get so pissed off at a video game that it makes you write a novel
