NEW: Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT) & Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) launch review of $220 million taxpayer-funded Dept of Homeland Security ad campaign w/ Kristi Noem
Senators seek records about "circumstances surrounding the awarding of this lucrative, no-bid contract..."
I guess somebody is still printing something called the Washington Star to wrap fish in.
Liked without reading. Will I be embarrassed by that in 5 years?
A thinker, eh? We don't like your kind around here.
Arsonist seeks information on water.
The press strategy equivalent of jingling keys to be precise.
you're going to have jake tapper whine about how president AOC/pritzker betrayed the troops
Today is six weeks since Trump said we would have details of the Greenland deal in two weeks.
Mr. Mamdani, New York City’s first Muslim mayor and a democratic socialist, has long criticized Israel and defended Palestinians — an issue that inspired him to get into politics. He has described the war in Gaza as genocide and has said he does not believe Israel should be a Jewish
Unless I missed something, I don't recall him ever saying that. He has refused to recognize, etc., but that's not "I don't believe Israel should be Jewish." www.nytimes.com/2026/03/06/n...
In Hegseth's defense, he is a moron.
Over and over, the patterns repeat
That was just proof you were still sane.
there's a thing I like to call "load-bearing assumptions", that you don't notice until they're suddenly gone (e.g the air you breath has oxygen in it).
the post-ww2 order is a load-bearing assumption for basically the entirety of american life. trump took a sledgehammer to it in the last 90 days.
DoD readily leaking suggests the strike order came from very high up. For all Hegseth's crimes, I'm not sure he would knowingly order the murder of hundreds of schoolgirls. And I doubt Trump is picking targets.
But Miller would order it, and DoD wouldn't protect him.
Kinda blows that the post WWII international order might've been preserved if Israel had done a better job jailing Netanyahu and America had done a better job jailing Trump.
If you're mad, you don't let things like logic and facts get in the way.
Yes, but typical of Hegseth, it amounts to little more than him grabbing his crotch and screaming, "You can't handle this, you can't handle this!" bsky.app/profile/adam...
It's as disgusting as it is lame, and I am not mitigating the former with the latter.
Yes, NEPA would still be there and that's it's own bear, but MEPA, I've heard, can be unnecessarily worse. In retrospect, it was probably invoked to table the Blue Line Ext to Charles/MGH, but the idea you need a climate justice study per MEPA for the Red-Blue connector is obscene.
I saw a post recently on Reddit that suggest one very prominent MBTA commuter project could probably sail through review if the lege exempted it from MEPA. There already was a railroad there. There's nothing to review and angry abutters shouldn't be allowed to pull every trick in the book.
Sisi is the luckiest SOB (as long as grain prices don't soar).
[cat sharpens harpoon]
But wires—and public review—are scahwy!
Then the brief can be summed up as, "Praying for a 3-0 Trump-appointed panel."
Doocy especially.
Lol, lmao even.
