Lush have closed their stores in the UK today in solidarity with the people of Palestine:

β€œWhilst Lush is losing a day of takings, this also means that the UK Government is losing a day of tax contributions from Lush and our customers.”

Labour is ignoring the threat from its left As disaffection with mainstream parties grows, Labour is copying Reform’s agenda. But trying to outflank the hard-right populists is not only pointles...

Starmer is making a huge mistake - ignoring voters who want real action on the climate, a fair tax system, investment in our economy, support for disabled people, action to lift children out of poverty, global leadership to end the bloodshed in Gaza...

It's an honour to hold elected office for the last 4 years & to continue this with our 4 new MPs for the last 10 months.

I'm ambitious about taking on a failing Labour Party and sending many more Green MPs to Parliament.

Labour's economics are all about growth, but for whom? Certainly not the poorest.
The best economics lift people out of poverty, not push more into it.
Reduced poverty means healthier people, better educated kids, happier workers, a richer more peaceful society. How did Labour lose its way so badly?

What’s in the millions of tonnes of sludge sprayed on to farmland? The answer won’t make you happy | George Monbiot Thanks to breathtaking negligence, the liquid fertiliser used to help grow our food bubbles with a lethal cocktail of toxins, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

A gobsmacking story. Water companies let toxic waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. The sewage sludge is then spread, untested, on farmland, potentially poisoning vast areas, entire ecosystems and the people (you and me) eating the food.

The journalists' job (very seldom discharged) is to hold power to account, *regardless of the nature of that power*. But when I criticise the failings of this government, I get widely told to leave it alone for fear of letting in the Tories/Reform. Sorry. Accountability is the essence of democracy.

Labour’s complicity in this genocide no longer ceases to amaze me, I pretty much expect it of them.

Just pleased I left the cesspit they’ve made of Labour and joined @greenparty.org.uk who take a principled stand, otherwise I’d feel I had blood on my hands.

Did a Private Equity Fire Truck Roll-Up Worsen the L.A. Fires? During the LA fires, dozens of fire trucks sat in the boneyard, waiting for repairs the city couldn't afford. Why? A private equity roll-up made replacing and repairing those trucks much pricier.

Must-read story on how a private equity group cornered the fire truck market, doubling prices, causing massive delays and leaving departments across the county β€” including Los Angeles β€” without the resources needed to combat fires.

RealClimate: The AMOC is slowing, it’s stable, it’s slowing, no, yes, … RealClimate: There's been a bit of media whiplash on the issue of AMOC slowing lately - ranging from the AMOC being "on the brink of collapse" to it being "more stable than previously thought". AMOC, of course, refers to the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, one of the worlds major ocean circulation systems which keeps the northern

Here's my thoughts on the latest round of discussion about the slowing of the Atlantic overturning circulation. It's a bit nerdy - but the short summary is: in my view the balance of evidence strongly suggests that the #AMOC has slowed since the late 19th C. 🌊

Rachel Reeves hints at support for Heathrow third runway Sustainable aviation and economic growth go hand in hand, the chancellor tells the BBC.

Stopping the climate crisis demands phasing out production and use of fossil fuels, not support for Heathrow expansion.

Reeves promised to be a green chancellor, but she's clearly failing. For a real green chancellor, we have to vote Green!
