So, he returned to the dorm to pack himself a gym bag and grab his own headphones, narrowly escaping running into the rest of his group in the hall on the way out.

Kaveh shoved his phone into his pocket and decided that his best course of action to channel his anger, and avoid seeing Alhaitham, was to do his planned workout a few hours early.

He didn’t bother responding to Tighnari with anything more than the middle finger emoji, which earned him the laughing ones in return.

And the look on his face.. Kaveh had never seen Alhaitham look so soft before. It was.. it was..

“So infuriating!” Kaveh exclaimed, truly screaming out in frustration this time. He stormed off down the hallway, channeling his indignation into action.

He had his opposite hand hovering near Kaveh’s cheek, possibly to keep his head from falling in the event that there were any sudden bumps in the road. More than that, Alhaitham wasn’t just awake, but he was looking at Kaveh. Watched him sleep for gods knew how long.

Kaveh was shocked to see such an expression on himself. It was almost uncanny. But what shocked him even more was the fact that Alhaitham was completely awake.

Kaveh swiped open the notification and unlocked his phone and that was his greatest mistake.

The photo was of him and Alhaitham just earlier. Kaveh was asleep, his head on Alhaitham’s shoulder and his expression peaceful. Had he ever been this at ease, especially around Alhaitham?

Kaveh let out a deep sigh as he came to a stop and fished his phone out of his pocket, his eyebrows furrowing when he saw the notifications on the lock screen. ‘Reminds you of the old days, doesn’t it?’ and an image attachment from Tighnari?

But he couldn’t bring himself to care about them, not when he had to grieve the fact he’d cozied up to the cockiest bastard he knew! Kaveh was just about to scream out of pure frustration when his phone chimed.
