Undertale was definitely close to making the cut but at risk of sounding too much like a snobby hipster, it's message was kinda universal and broadly appealing

not that that's a bad thing, I just think these games spoke a bit more personally to me. they're all a bit more ... uh ... nihilistic 😅

Night in the Woods manages to effortlessly capture that mood and really helped me process some things at the time

P2 lacks the glitz of new-Persona and for that I think it gets criminally overlooked, but it's got those lovely late 90's PS1 vibes and some of my favorite RPG characters

I'm a sucker for the delinquent with a heart of gold trope

I don't blame Nightdive for the decisions they made with System Shock Remake and I think it's fine that that will be the game for a lot of people as they know it

but OG (or Enhanced Edition) is still a unique experience worth having

I really gotta replay Night in the Woods soon

having grown up in a town exactly like Possum Springs and listening to Die Anywhere Else while thousands of miles away from that place hits kinda hard

I think the problem is that they are two totally separate game style

games that want to build a grand narrative and insert me into it probably shouldn't, I don't belong there. I'll insert myself as an interested observer through my own engagement

pokemon are always doing shit like "Drowzee used Crazy Floor! Drowzee started getting funky" and it won't tell you what that means. top competitive strategies will revolve around getting funky.

there is a time I would've been excited for this, but I've lived three lives since then. whatever this is fills me with dread

this is an attempt to move into that arena, maintain a hold on the markets, and even slim down the platforms they have to support by generalizing XBox into it

it's actually pretty savvy (and by savvy I mean stupid and evil)

my crazy take on this is that it's at least a nod the competition being posed by Steam

there's a general consumer desire to move in that direction and MS doesn't make money on Windows anymore but they NEED to keep people on their platform for all the other stuff

does it curl up on your lap and buzz like a purring cat?
