"Jews don't belong in American society."

Imagine a sitting member of Congress tweeting that. You can't. Thankfully, it'd never happen. And *if* it did, it'd be the end of their career and the biggest story in America.

But Ogles can say this about Muslims without any censure.

The Hunger Gap A gulf in public understanding prevents us from seeing how and why our food supply is at risk.

In 2023, I sought to explain to a parliamentary committee what a structural collapse of the global food system would look like, and why this this is plausible - even likely. I think the likelihood has just ratcheted up a notch. I beg you to read and understand. Thanks

As of now, there are 11 requests from countries - Iran's neighbors, European states and US. There is a clear interest in Ukrainian experience in protecting life, relevant interceptors, electronic warfare systems, and training.

Opinion | Who’s winning the U.S.-Iran war? Russia and China. Oil disruption benefits Russia, as does less U.S. aid for Ukraine. And Iran distracts from China.

It’s too soon to tell who will win the war between the United States and Iran. But, at this point, my money would be on Russia and China. wapo.st/4ui9QzJ

Trump's decision to bomb Iran is now the greatest windfall to the Russian war effort on record. If it continues, it might save the Russian war economy.

Starmer warns of bigger impact on economy the longer Iran war continues - UK politics live The prime minister is facing pressure from unions and some backbenchers to prepare a support package as oil and gas prices threaten to push up inflation Starmer said the energy cap would protect households from the impact of economic turbulence stemming from the US-Israeli war in Iran, but acknowledged that businesses – and others – would be “concerned” to carefully monitor developments. Asked if Donald Trump was risking a world war with his military actions, the prime minister said: “We do need to find a way to de-escalate the situation and that’s what a lot of our discussions are about – how do we find a way to de-escalate this situation and make sure it doesn’t escalate even further than it already has.” I think it is important just to remind ourselves that last time a conflict began to develop, which was 2022 in relation to Ukraine, the economy wasn’t in a stable place, and inflation was 5% and rising. We’ve done a lot of work in the last 18 months to put some resilience in and make sure that we’ve got some headroom, which is basically some insurance within the economy, but also inflation is 3% and going down, so in that sense, there’s more resilience. I don't know how you prepare a population for bad economic news because the US President is crazy. I do know the UK is considerably better placed to survive the worst case than many other countries. But it will worsen a long ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

With oil at $110, I’d guess the equity markets give up another 3-5% over the next few days.

And then Trump TACOs.

The result? The war will have succeeded in clearing out the Iranian gerontocracy for a new generation of younger extremist Mullahs.

AI error or not, Iran school bombing is a permanent stain on America’s soul | Will Bunch A debate on AI in warfare obscures the truth about an Iran school bombing. U.S. humans are to blame for this war crime.

They had names. They had beautiful faces. And they had the same dreams as your kids - crushed when American "precision" bombs slammed into their Minab elementary school, killing 175

Don't blame AI for this. Blame the sick humans who see war as a game

Gilt yields surging, oil and gas prices soaring, wider systemic impact transmitted through food prices and everything else.

Iran didn't need a nuclear weapon to create mayhem. It just needed an idiot US President.

And as for those who backed him- eyes open yet?

The Desire for Terror And the defense of democracy

A purpose of the war on Iran might well be to provoke a terrorist attack inside the United States. This would provide Donald Trump with a pretext to try to cancel or “federalize” the coming Congressional elections.
