Brass motifs are out. Our music's being played @ at low volume. 1khz - 3khz range are at risk of muddying. Opt for solo strings, oboes, Duduk, & dizi flutes for melodies, and make them DYNAMIC, so they poke out of the texture & keep the music relevant without drowning out the dialogue in-game.
TTRPG Composers...we're experiencing what film music did in the mid 2010s w/ calls for subtler energy & textures.
So uhhh... I'm escaping. Gotta get my fam safe before I can keep making nerdy music 🤙 so I'll say hi from the other side of the planet 🫡
You wouldn't play a #TTRPG where:
— The GM barely narrates, instead silently shows you pictures & video of what your character sees, and mixes the soundtrack & SFX to drive the story.
— PCs play normally, rolling dice, RPing, etc., but initiate all exploration like a co-op top-down JRPG.
