I’m just wondering if we needed this rain
I’m just wondering if we needed this rain
Every time someone brings out this argument I just think of an ambulance I saw - lights and sirens on - getting stuck for a good three minutes amid a mass of cars picking up students from a school
I wonder if my recent desire to play ACNH again is due to wanting some escapism from the continuous hell the world has become currently
I would argue the two dubstep songs are not actually dubstep either 🤓☝️
Thanks for 1k followers on here 🤯
Yeah I went for Kelly. I probably should've waited to see how the polls developed, but I wanted to do it and mail it in before I forgot haha
Kelly preferred, and is who I voted for (I did early before the polls developed, I guess I could've waited to see how the polls came out), I'm seeing Stratton has the best chance to beat Raja though.
We need Ranked Choice Voting in Illinois. I've essentially "threw my vote away" in the Senate race because I early voted for who I wanted and didn't "strategically vote", essentially voting for the opposition
But with RCV, I could've done both and not inadvertently help the worse candidate
Once again I can never hear the tornado siren test since moving to the city 😅
Inb4 “its not called that because of wind”
Yeah but its pretty windy tho
I know metra was working on better station-by-station counting, so if they get that online then maybe we can see!
No clue - the RTA site only gives numbers for the line as a whole. It's possible Metra's detailed report has a breakdown, but I'm not sure. Could maybe be something you could FOIA?
The South Shore Line was included in the data as well, but instead of making a whole graphic I'll just toss it here:
South Shore Line 2025 Ridership: 1,985,501 (+12.08 from 2024)
Metra has released their ridership counts for 2025, so it's time for my silly little graphic!
All lines saw an overall increase except for MED, and the Heritage Corridor's increase of over 49k riders from 2024 gave it the highest % increase, though BNSF saw the highest total increase (>730k riders)
The fries with the sauce tho 😩🔥
a dalmatian puppy dressed up like an old-timey train engineer excitedly watches a model train go by
I just think they're neat!!!
(thanks @ricket.bsky.social! 💛)
"I can't get the announcements to work so you're stuck with my voice." It's about to be a great ride
Tooooooo much
Some people are all too happy to use a city’s reputation of being rough to validify their shitty behavior
You being a Chicagoan or in Chicago (or any city) does not give you the right to act like an asshole, and in fact you thinking so is incredibly offensive
The insinuation is that because it’s Chicago I should expect/be fine with asshole behavior because idk it’s the city and that’s its reputation or smth? Its utterly stupid because I’m as much of a Chicagoan as those pricks and somehow I manage to make it through without annoying/harming fellow riders
Both times I’ve yelled at/called someone out for shitty behavior on the L (ik I shouldnt but I have a short temper) they’ve retorted with some variation of “it’s Chicago man” or “I’m a Chicagoan” which is just utterly stupid
(Cont.)
Yeah, this is a little silly
147 my beloved ❤️
The amount of times I’ve seen wrong apostrophe-s usage on OFFICIAL PRODUCT PACKAGING AND ADVERTISEMENTS is frankly depressing
It’s not that hard, and surely *some*one should be able to catch it before print
@piero.bsky.social’s done some digging into this! Afaik its busiest by # of flights, not necessarily # of passengers
Taking notes for next time
They join up at the south end of Lincoln Park!
I wish it was a little more frequent - maybe every 15 minutes instead of every 20!
You say this as I am also wanting to get back into ACNH! I played it over the pandemic, like most did, and had a blast… it’s been a few years now but I wanna get back into it!
