How much is Big Bike paying you?
The discovery of HIV as the cause of AIDS was transformational and led to the treatments today. Denying reality is not a health strategy.
As an HIV survivor, who's CD4 count at discharge from hospital back in 2005, was 4 (no, not hundred...4 total was the best count they got), I am completely fine with saying I hate these people with a fiery hatred.

RFK Jr doesnβt believe that HIV causes AIDS.
You canβt debate conspiracy theorists and germ theory denialists.
You expose them.
Medication helps so many people. But pill-shaming makes people avoid seeking treatment or stop effective treatment. It causes harm.
Pill-shaming is ableism.
It derives from poor science literacy and pseudoscientific health ideology in the anti-psychiatry movement and alternative medicine industry.
There's no shame in accepting medication.
No one deserves to experience stigma.
Many people think that a scientific consensus is a large group of scientists who all agree that something is true.
In reality, itβs a large body of scientific studies that all agree with and support each other. The agreement is a by-product of the consistent evidence.

Honestly, I still donβt understand how people can fall for this nonsense.
Legendary physicist, Richard Feynman: "I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics."
Alternative medicine practitioner: "I can use quantum physics to treat your health condition."

By aspiring to be a health βcoachβ or some other legally unprotected title, self-styled wellness gurus can obviate expertise, codes of ethics, legal standards of practice, and overall accountability to patient care.
Trump never expects people to notice the disconnect between what he says vs what he DOES.

Translation: "I'm a wannabe wellness influencer with no credentials, no following, but a self-published book and supplements to peddle, and I need some notoriety by borrowing your credentials and status to elevate myself."

Never play chess with a pigeon.
The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over.
Then shits all over the board.
Then struts around like it won.
Youβre just a shill for Big Pharma! See my website for details and donβt forget to check out the great savings on the supplement of the week!
We need to do better at improving science literacy in part because too many people think that wellness influencer blogs with discount codes are bonafide replacements for top medical journals like The Lancet.
Honesty is essential for a patient to provide informed consent.
A choice between science and conspiratorial pseudoscience isnβt a real choice, especially if you donβt tell the patient which is which and if neither the clinician nor the patient can tell the difference.
I just learned that in addition to schizophrenia, the keto diet also cures cancer, AIDS, glaucoma, broken legs, marital conflict, and thirst.
