Had a great time @movingimagenyc.bsky.social this past weekend for the 40th anniversary screening of Follow That Bird. So great to reconnect with old friends & meet some new folks connected to the Muppets/Henson family

Todayβs #Muppet GIF of the Day isβ¦
#RIPClemBurke saddened to hear of this amazing talent's passing. So glad to see him with Blondie opening for Morrissey at MSG back around 2015. Photo by me
Celebrating Rizzo the Rat this week! #Muppets70
Photo dump of stuff I've been up to lately: Met #toriamos, saw some parrots near my office, won a Tshirt from The Breakfast Club (80s band), & saw local HS production of #littleshopofhorrors

It was a pretty intense show. I can understand how someone could find it difficult to watch. He was very good though, & so was Gillian Anderson. The location shots of Belfast were also amazing. Good series
The books are pretty awful, but I enjoyed the films as a guilty pleasure. Made me a fan of both Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson. Met them both too, very kind to fans
Fifty Shades of Black movie by the Wayans Bros was actually a funny parody
The Fall is what made me a fan of his.
365 awful
ASL interpreters who work in the arts (concerts, opera, theatre, etc) deserve to be valued as artists too. it takes so much skill to be this good at capturing the FEEL of music beyond just translating the meaning of the text and itβs an invaluable accessibility service
It may be the label, who knows. There's so much red tape in the music industry
I actually had a guy do this to me on LinkedIn too!! Like I'm here to network for business, not one night stands. People are soooo creepy
PSA for this evening: if you're male with a profile bio that reads like a dating ad, Following only women, and have no followers yourself, please don't follow me, because you'll automatically be blocked. And I'm happily married, thanks
Would be nice to have a physical copy though. Physical media always better.
Definitely should, especially with Fast Car a hit again
I didn't appreciate Chicago enough growing up. My father who's a musician, had several of their albums. Now at 47, I feel I need to go back & listen to their catalog
They should have lol
Is he still? I don't even follow current country music. Honestly my least favorite genre because it's so pop based now
Sesame Street songwriter Joe Raposo with Kermit the Frog and Jim Henson, creator of The Muppets
36 years ago today, the world lost the musical genius that was Joe Raposo, the man who wrote the Sesame Street theme, "Sing," "Bein' Green," "C Is for Cookie," and over 325(!) other Sesame Street songs.
Here's his songography:

What's your favorite Joe Raposo song?
Can't speak for MAGA, but I would have liked to have seen Mickey Guyton an actual country singer & woman of color win one when she was nominated 4x prior & passed over.
Olivia Newton John got a lot of flack when she was up and coming. Her early albums were pure country & industry was not happy
Congratulations to #sesamestreet for winning the #producersguild Award for Outstanding Childrenβs Program. Itβs a shame there couldnβt be a tie because #fragglerockofficial: Back to Rock was deserving as well. Glad to see to so many #hensoncompany related productions nominated!
Question since I'm a newbie here: is there an easy way to search for friends like sync up with your phone contacts or? TIA
46 years ago today, Elton John appeared as the guest star on The Muppet Show, singing "Crocodile Rock", "Bennie and the Jets", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", and, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", with Miss Piggy filling in for Kiki Dee.
Karen Carpenterβs passing on this day in 1983 marked a profound loss for music. A gifted drummer and vocalist, her warm voice defined The Carpentersβ sound on classics like "Close to You," "We've Only Just Begun," and "Rainy Days and Mondays."
