I've been thinking some more about this and I suspect it's linked to the view of learning as just being about memorising more of what you might call 'knowledge items' rather than being a flexible, living, breathing thing.
Pictured: Gladys West-the mathematical and computer programming expert who created an accurate model of the Earth, which was the foundation for GPS. She was inducted into the US Air Force Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors offered by the Air Force.
Most of us have used Global Positioning System (GPS) for navigation & we can thank Gladys West for creating the foundation for GPS.

As part of the governmentβs drive to improve reading and writing, the department will also publish a writing framework in the summer, that will be a first step to support schools in delivering high quality writing provision across England ensuring all pupils have a strong foundation in writing.

I get very little support time. Iβm meant to meet all the needs of my class by myself & teach a full curriculum.
I can do one or the other. Yes I can preempt a meltdown, but not whilst teaching a lesson.
