ANYWAY someone asked for some thoughts on a recording guide they’re putting together and it was nice to include a version of this as a tip

The only folks that match their volume between a sound check and the actual recording are voiceover artists or proper radio hosts but we don’t make those like we used to.

At an old job, a host reported back to my boss that I didn’t do a sound check for a recording and that was because I did it while the two were chatting while I was setting up. You know…like they would when they started doing the interview.

I’ll sometimes get asked about using “AI” tools to fix/mix audio with. I’ve never ran into a situation where I think it worked better than the real stuff, even if it is a shitty recording but what I find extra funny, maybe even poetic, is that they can’t handle laughter
